The teaching evaluation of college teachers is related to the development orientation of the entire higher education career and is the baton for the improvement of teaching quality in universities.It has always been highly concerned by the whole society.The reform of college teachers’ teaching evaluation is an important content in educational evaluation reform in the new era.How to give impetus to the teaching evaluation reform and inspire teachers to practice the momentous mission of teaching and education is the crucial link to promote the high-quality development of higher education.This paper takes four universities in Shanxi Province(Shanxi University,Shanxi Normal University,Taiyuan Normal University,and Lvliang University)as examples,using literature analytic method,interview law,policy text analysis method to analyze the four universities.This paper analyzes the existing circumstances and realistic problems of teaching evaluation,explores and summarizes the deep-seated reasons behind the problems and proposes an innovative path for the reform of teaching evaluation for college teachers in the new era.The article is divided into six parts: the first part is the introduction.It mainly discusses the research origin and significance,research commentary at home and abroad,research ideas,contents,methods and innovations.The second part is a brief introduction to the reform of teachers’ teaching evaluation.It defines the relevant concepts of educational evaluation,teachers’ teaching evaluation,teachers’ teaching evaluation reform and so on,and briefly introduces the necessity,function and principle of teachers’ teaching evaluation reform.The third part is an investigation on the teaching evaluation of teachers in four universities in Shanxi Province.This paper analyzes teachers’ teaching evaluation system and takes school administrators,teachers and students of the four universities as the interview objects.It mainly analyzes the current situation of evaluation purpose,evaluation content,evaluation method,evaluation result use and evaluation effect.The fourth part is the problems and reasons analysis of teachers’ teaching evaluation.The study found that there are some problems: evaluation content does not highlight teachers’ teaching achievements;evaluation method cannot truly reflect the quality of education and teaching;paying different attention to teaching and scientific research;inadequate understanding of the evaluation functions and effects of teaching research and reform;the feedback and application of teaching evaluation results are far from satisfactory.On this basis,the reasons for these problems are explored: inadequate implementation of policies;contradiction between the demands of evaluation subjects and unreasonable distribution of functions;imperfect teaching evaluation,training and incentive system;the evaluation effect of teaching research and reform is not effectively utilized;the awareness and understanding of the feedback and use of teaching evaluation results are insufficient.The fifth part is the innovative path of teaching evaluation reform in universities in the new era.Mainly from the following five aspects: implementing comprehensive evaluation of teaching contribution;using modern information technology to innovate teaching evaluation methods and means;optimizing and perfecting teaching evaluation,training and incentive systems;carrying forward teaching reform with evaluation concepts,implementing teaching reform with evaluation measures and examining teaching reform with evaluation standards;enhancing the feedback and incentives of teaching evaluation results.The sixth part is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the general points of the article and mentions these problems in order to give a reference to push forward the reform and development of college teachers’ teaching evaluation in the new era.
