Picture books are the embodiment of children’s language,thinking and aesthetics.With the passage of time,picture books are increasingly valued by teachers and parents,and gradually become an indispensable curriculum resource.How to improve the utilization efficiency of picture book curriculum resources has become a problem faced by kindergartens.This research has certain necessity and significance.The researcher took A Kindergarten in Pudong New Area of Shanghai as an example to study the current situation of the utilization of picture book curriculum resources by using questionnaire,interview and observation methods.This study presents the current situation from three dimensions:the understanding and attitude of picture book curriculum resources,the utilization of picture book curriculum resources,and the management of picture book curriculum resources.From the analysis of the current situation,we can find that there are still some problems in the utilization of picture book curriculum resources in kindergartens,such as teachers’ lack of awareness of using picture book curriculum resources,lack of initiative,unclear criteria for selecting picture book curriculum resources,low level of utilization of picture book curriculum resources,and imperfect management mechanism for the utilization of picture book curriculum resources in kindergartens.The main reasons for the problems are the limited professional level of teachers,the lack of time and energy,the lack of attention paid by managers to the use of picture book curriculum resources,the lack of professional training on the use of picture book resources,and the lack of financial support.In view of the existing problems and the analysis of the causes,the researchers put forward strategic suggestions from three aspects:teachers,managers and family communities.Teachers need to strengthen their awareness of picture books as curriculum resources;Actively participate in the utilization of picture book curriculum resources;Increase the use frequency of different types of picture book curriculum resources;Select appropriate picture book resources based on children’s life and interests.Managers should pay more attention to the utilization of picture book course resources,set up a picture book course resource database as a whole,increase the investment in the utilization of picture book resources,and improve the teaching,research and training system of picture book course resources.In terms of family and community,strengthen the communication between home and improve parents’ participation in the use of picture book curriculum resources;Use the community library skillfully and give full play to the resource advantages of the community.
