With the deepening of physical education reform in colleges and universities and the rapid development of modern information technology,the teaching objectives of basketball course under the conventional teaching mode are unitary,the value orientation is vague,and the teaching content is obsolete,which can no longer meet the requirements of students’ modern development and "quality education".It is urgent to innovate and reform the teaching mode of basketball course in colleges and universities of physical education.Integrating the O2O model with modern network information technology and applying it to the teaching of basketball courses in colleges and universities of physical education can fully meet the needs of students’ personalized and comprehensive development,realize the integration of online and offline teaching of basketball courses,and ultimately promote the modern development of basketball course teaching in colleges and universities of physical education.This paper takes the experiment of O2O teaching mode applied to basketball class in physical education colleges and universities as the research object,and adopts the methods of literature,expert interview,experiment,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics to explore the feasibility and teaching effect of O2O teaching mode in basketball class teaching in physical education colleges and universities.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)By comparing and analyzing the various data and classroom performance of the two groups of students before and after the teaching experiment,it shows that it is feasible to adopt O2O teaching mode for basketball class students in colleges and universities of physical education.(2)After the teaching experiment,the two groups of students’ body shape and function level,physical quality level,basketball basic technology level,exercise attitude level and basketball basic theoretical knowledge level were compared and analyzed.It was found that the experimental group of students improved more.Therefore,compared with the conventional teaching mode,the O2O teaching mode has a better teaching effect in the basketball class of higher physical education institutions.(3)Adopting O2O teaching mode for basketball students in colleges and universities of physical education can effectively make up for and improve the deficiencies in the conventional teaching mode.The online basketball teaching resources and the interaction between them have greatly guaranteed the students’ autonomous learning ability,selfconfidence and enthusiasm.The whole teaching process changes from teaching students knowledge to teaching students how to learn.
