| This paper studies the current situation of psychological empowerment and work engagement of elementary school head teachers in city H.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of psychological empowerment and work engagement of elementary school head teachers in city H through research and analysis,and to propose feasible countermeasures to improve the psychological empowerment and work engagement of elementary school head teachers in city H with the results of the survey.A total of 356 questionnaires were collected and 333 valid questionnaires were finally selected.In addition,10 elementary school head teachers were selected to conduct semi-structured interviews in order to have a more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the work of elementary school head teachers in city H.After analyzing the questionnaire data and organizing the interview content,we found that the psychological empowerment and work commitment of head teachers in elementary school in H are at the middle to high level,but the work capacity and pressure of head teachers are high,and the development of each dimension within the psychological empowerment and work commitment of head teachers is unbalanced.Among them,the head teacher’s participation in decision-making is low,the head teacher’s autonomy is low,and the head teacher’s work dynamics and concentration need to be improved.Based on the analysis of the above problems,the following countermeasures are proposed: First,to reduce the workload of head teachers and improve the training and support mechanism for head teachers;Second,to establish the management concept of democratic decision-making: to increase the ways of participation in decision-making,to create an atmosphere of joint participation in decision-making,and to improve the willingness and ability of head teachers to participate in decision-making;Third,to give head teachers autonomy in their work: to clarify the teaching and management autonomy of head teachers,to create space and platform for head teachers to develop autonomously;Fourth,to enhance the psychological empowerment experience of head teachers: affirm the dedication and intrinsic value of head teachers’ work and meet the substantive work needs of head teachers. |
