"When the youth is strong, the country is strong".In recent years,in order to improve the physical health of our students, the Party Central Committee has promulgated many policy documents on improving children’s physical fitness and health, and children’s physical health has attracted a great deal of attention from the entire population. It has been found that childhood is a critical period for the development of physical fitness and basic motor skills, and reasonable motor interventions for children at this stage can effectively promote the development of children’s movement and physical fitness.Based on this, this study used the research methods of literature, measurement, teaching experiment, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis to design a teaching program based on the level 5 movements of the Happy Gymnastics Level Exercise Standard promulgated by the State General Administration of Sports in 2016,and to study the effect of happy gymnastics on the development of gross motor movements in children aged 7-8 years old, with Zichuan District Experimental Primary School Forty-one children aged 7-8 years old in the second grade of South Campus were taken as the experimental subjects and randomly divided into experimental and control classes. The experimental class was subjected to 8 weeks of experimental intervention of happy gymnastics teaching, and the control class was subjected to 8 weeks of regular physical education teaching intervention to explore the effect of happy gymnastics teaching on gross motor development of 7-8 year old children. To enrich the theoretical results of happy gymnastics on children’s gross motor development,as well as to provide exercise methods to promote children’s motor development, improve children’s physical fitness, enrich children’s physical exercise means, and increase options for participation in sports. The experimental results were as follows:(1)Before the teaching experiment intervention, the basic conditions and gross motor skills of the students in the experimental and control classes were tested and the results of the two classes were subjected to independent sample t-test,which showed that there was no significant difference between the two classes in terms of age, height, weight and gross motor test scores, and the grouping met the homogeneity requirement.(2)After 8 weeks of experiments through happy gymnastics teaching, the test scores of body displacement skills and object manipulation skills within the experimental class group showed highly significant differences(P<0.01),indicating that happy gymnastics teaching helps promote the development of gross motor skills in 7-8-year-old children.(3)After the 8-week regular physical education experiment, there was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the test scores of physical displacement skills and very significant difference(P<0.001)in the test scores of object manipulation skills in the control class, indicating that the development of object manipulation skills was better than the development of physical displacement skills in 7-8-year-old children with regular physical education.(4)After the 8-week experimental intervention, there were significant differences between the experimental and control classes in body displacement skills(P<0.01)and object manipulation skills(P<0.05),indicating that teaching happy gymnastics can promote the development of children’s gross motor skills.
