| Objective:In recent years, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, children spend more time studying at home, sitting for a long time, the amount of physical activity is significantly reduced, and the level of athletic ability and physical health continues to decline. It is particularly important to improve children’s sports ability and health literacy.Happy gymnastics fully taps into the entertainment and fun of gymnastics, provides a new opportunity to promote children’s athletic ability, and physical and mental health development.More children can participate in it.enjoy it.form sports awareness, cultivate sports ability, and improve health literacy. This study takes athletic ability as the main observation factor,to investigate the effect of happy gymnastics on the motor ability of 4-6 year-old children, and provides empirical references for the improvement of athletic ability of children. Methods:This paper focuses on the experimental method.64 children aged 4-6 years in a kindergarten in Changshu City were selected for a 14-week experimental intervention of 40 minutes four times a week. The children’s motor abilities(including gross motor ability, fine motor ability and total motor ability)were tested before and after the intervention using the Peabody-2 motor development scale. The experimental data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 26.0.The pre-test data were tested for homogeneity using independent sample t-test,post-test data and data of different genders were analyzed using independent sample t-test,and pre-test and post-test data were analyzed using paired sample t-test with P-value defined as 0.05.Results:(1)After the happy gymnastics intervention, there is no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in posture and grip ability(P>0.05),and there are significant differences in movement, physical manipulation ability, gross motor quotient(GMQ)and total motor quotient(TMQ)(P<0.01),as well as statistically significant differences in visual-motor integration ability and fine motor quotient(P<0.05).(2)There is no significant difference in posture.movement, physical manipulation,grasping,visual-motor integration, gross motor quotient(GMQ),fine motor quotient(FMQ),and total motor quotient(TMQ)in the control group after the intervention(P>0.05).In terms of scoresmgirls score slightly higher than boys except for physical manipulation;there is no gender difference in movement, physical manipulation, and visual-motor integration abilities in the experimental group after the intervention(P>0.05),and there are gender differences in posture, grasping ability, gross motor quotient(GMQ).fine motor quotient(FMQ).and total motor quotient(TMQ)(P<0.05),and girls score better than boys in the same group.(3)There are no significant difference in posture,grip,visual-motor integration ability and fine motor quotient(FMQ),statistically significant differences in mobility.gross motor quotient(GMQ)and total motor quotient(TMQ)(P<0.01),and differences in physical manipulation ability(P<0.05)in the control group before and after the intervention:all five subtests in the experimental group before and after the intervention have significant differences(P<0.01),and all three quotients are statistically significant(P<0.01)compared to the pre-intervention period.Conclusion:(1)Compared with general physical activities in kindergarten, happy gymnastics have the most significant effect on improving children’s mobility and physical manipulation abilities, followed by visual-motor integration. It is confirmed that happy gymnastics have a positive effect on both gross motor ability and fine motor ability of children, and the effect on gross motor ability is greater.(2)Children in the control group show different degrees of improvement in all abilities after the experiment, with the most obvious improvement in gross motor ability and the second most obvious improvement in physical manipulation ability. It is confirmed that general physical activities in kindergarten can improve children’s gross motor ability, and also have a facilitating effect on the improvement of children’s total motor ability.(3)The effects of happy gymnastics on the motor ability of children aged 4-6 years differ by gender, with significant promotion effects on gross motor ability and fine motor ability of girls, and with greater effects on posture and grasping ability. |
