The primary school stage is a critical period for the formation and development of students’ reading literacy,while the fourth grade is an important transition point towards the higher grade learning stage,which deeply affects the sustainable development of students’reading literacy.Compared with PISA,PIRLS,NAEP and other international Educational assessment projects,China is still in the stage of learning from and learning from experience in the assessment of fourth grade students’ reading literacy,and has not yet established a scientific and reasonable assessment system for primary school students’ reading literacy.In order to promote the cultivation of Chinese reading literacy among fourth grade primary school students,this study was conducted in accordance with the relevant content of the national curriculum standards,and based on the background of the 14th Five Year Plan of the Chinese Modern Chemistry Association of the Ministry of Education’s national key project"Research on Teaching Strategies for Primary School Students’ Whole Book Reading and Awakening Reading Ability".On the basis of the Red Reading Plan reading literacy evaluation platform produced by the Shuguo Planet Education Reading Base,Around the four dimensions of students’ reading interests and habits,reading methods and thinking,comprehensive expression of reading,and reading research and practice,using reading tests,teacher and student interviews and other means,this study explores the development status of students’ability to extract information,analyze reasoning,integrate interpretation,evaluate reflection,and creative application,The survey was carried out on the status quo of the reading literacy of fourth graders in three primary schools in Yinchuan,summarized the main problems and reasons from the sample sorting and data analysis,and then proposed strategies to effectively improve the reading literacy of fourth graders.The following research conclusions can be drawn from the survey:firstly,the overall Chinese reading literacy of fourth grade students is at a moderate level.The main performance is that students perform differently in different types of reading texts,with poor performance in continuous texts;Fault in the development of advanced reading ability;Students have low interest in reading.The second is that the reasons for the formation of fourth grade students’four dimensional and five strength reading literacy problems are diverse,mainly discussed from the four dimensions and five reading abilities of school,teachers,family,and reading literacy.Thirdly,the cultivation of fourth grade students’ four dimensional and five strength reading literacy requires multiple collaborative efforts,which can stimulate reading interest and cultivate good reading habits;Mastering reading methods and improving reading thinking;Carry out activities to enhance comprehensive expression skills;Combining multiple disciplines and focusing on reading practice to optimize teaching strategies.
