"Group reading" is a way of reading in which a group of texts is selected based on specific topics, and collective inquiry and discussion are adopted to promote cooperation, communication and co-construction among students and eventually reach consensus.Group reading teaching is an innovative attempt to promote reading exploration by transforming "single" texts into "group" texts.Compared with the traditional method, group reading teaching is based on the concept of modern education, and has made a breakthrough reform in the teaching format. The emergence of this method not only overturns the relatively closed teaching ideas of traditional language education, but also breaks the tradition of a single individual reading mode,so that students’ reading comprehension ability moves from fragmentation to a more systematic and structured development direction. In addition, this teaching method also helps to break the traditional mode of teaching single ancient poems. As one of the main contents in language teaching, ancient poems are relatively difficult to teach. However,at present, most students learn ancient poems only by understanding the words and reciting them mechanically. This single and boring teaching method not only leads to students’ fear of ancient poems, but also leads to a series of problems. The use of group reading can achieve better teaching results than the traditional "teacher lectures, students listen" method. In this paper,we focus on the application of group reading in the teaching of ancient poems in the third grade of elementary school. This paper consists of five parts: introduction, body and conclusion:The first part is the introduction, whose main purpose is to explain the background and reasons for the selection of the topic, the research value and current status of the thesis, and the research ideas and methods involved. It also provides a more detailed overview of the development of the teaching of ancient poetry and group reading in the third level of the primary language curriculum, and presents specific research ideas. In addition, the section illustrates the literature review in this area. The second part is an in-depth analysis of the definition and theoretical basis of the core concept of teaching group reading of ancient poems and words in the third grade of the Unified Edition of elementary school language,in order to fully understand the essential connotation of group reading teaching. At the same time,it also explains the feasibility analysis about group reading of ancient poems and words in the third school section of the Unified Edition of elementary school language. The third part of the study is an investigation of the current situation of teaching ancient poetry group texts in the third term of N elementary school,an in-depth study of the key problems existing in the current situation, and a detailed analysis of their causes.Various methods were used in this study, including student and teacher questionnaires and teacher interviews, with the aim of gaining a comprehensive understanding of the notable problems faced in teaching the ancient poetry and group texts in the third grade of the Unified Edition elementary school language, and to integrate and analyze the data.Based on the results of the preliminary survey, teachers mainly have the following problems: first, single perspective of text selection and loss of text organization logic;second, imperfect topic design and poor integration and debatability;third, becoming the dominant person and misplacing the subject of collective construction.Based on the above problems, the author believes that teachers’ problems are caused by the following aspects: insufficient reserves of ancient poems, subjective and one-sided selection of texts;lack of deep thinking in topic design, text integration away from reality;teachers’ roles have not yet changed, and lack of students’ main awareness. The fourth part is about the optimization strategies for teaching group reading of ancient poems and words in the third grade of elementary school language. In the third part, the author proposes the following practical strategies based on the unified version of the textbook: first, topic design strategy;second, text design strategy;and third, collective construction strategy. The fifth part is the concluding remarks, which is a comprehensive summary and reflection of this paper.
