Over the past few decades,feminist research has been a ’manifest science’ at home and abroad,and in recent years in particular,feminist research has continued to make new breakthroughs and innovations,bringing women,who have long been in a ’secondary’position,back into the In particular,feminist research has continued to make new breakthroughs and innovations in recent years,bringing the long-held ’second sex’ of women back into the foreground and demonstrating more powerful theoretical ambitions.This article examines and analyses the content of current secondary school textbooks from the perspective of ’femininity’,with a view to gaining new insights,experiences and discoveries from a new perspective.Based on the continuing research on the image of women and the fruitful results that have been achieved,the author argues that it is worthwhile to analyse and explain the image of women in secondary school textbooks with the help of relevant theories and research paradigms on the study of the image of women,and to discuss the gains and losses of textbook writing as well as feasible ways and strategies to translate it into teaching practice,which is also a worthwhile academic field in junior secondary school language teaching.With the unified textbook being used throughout the year in primary and secondary schools,the language textbook has undergone an overall transformation from "one syllabus with many books" to "one syllabus with one book".The introduction of the unified junior secondary language textbook has attracted the attention of language education experts,frontline teachers and even parents of students.Taking into account the actual development of research on the image of women and using its results and theories as reference,this article attempts to combine the language discipline and pedagogy,using the textual analysis method and the case study method,and taking the unified middle school language textbooks(the first book of Grade 7,the second book of Grade 7,the first book of Grade 8,the second book of Grade 8,the first book of Grade 9,and the second book of Grade 9)as the object of study,focusing on the female characters portrayed in the textbooks.The study focuses on the female characters portrayed in the textbooks,explores the types and distribution of female characters in the new unified textbooks,and analyses the relevance of female characters in order to achieve a more accurate and three-dimensional grasp and understanding of female characters in the language textbooks,inspire students to form a correct view of gender and cultivate their excellent moral qualities...
