In recent years,public attention to women has grown and calls for respect for women have increased significantly,but in practice,prejudices against women still exist.These gender stereotypes and sexist ideas are not conducive to the healthy development of students.The language subject has a nurturing function,and the images of women in language textbooks have a rich pedagogical value.By teaching the images of women in language textbooks,we can help students develop a healthy personality,build a healthy gender awareness and improve their aesthetic skills.This thesis mainly adopts the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey method and the case study to investigate the image of women in the unified version of junior high school language teaching materials,and puts forward some implementation suggestions for teaching the image of women,in order to provide some beneficial suggestions for teaching the image of women.This thesis is composed of the following five parts.The first part is an introduction,which explains the background of this thesis,the significance of the research,the current situation of the research,and the research ideas and methods.The second part is to introduce the current situation of the writing of female images in the Unified version of junior high school language teaching materials.The first part uses the unified version of junior high school language textbooks as the study text,and provides statistics and analysis on the images of women in the textbooks,and classifies the selected female images in the textbooks in terms of personality traits and role types,so as to target the scope for the next teaching research.The third part is an elaboration of the teaching values of the image of women in unified junior language teaching materials.It is primarily divided into four categories: intellectual value,aesthetic value,moral value and emotional value.It is anticipated that the study of these female images will help students to improve their aesthetic skills,refine their personalities,enhance their emotional experiences and establish the concept of gender equality,etc.The fourth part is an analysis of the current state of teaching the image of women in junior high school language teaching materials by means of a questionnaire.By designing the questionnaire,tallying the results,analysis of questionnaire results and current teaching situation,the foundation is laid for the next step of making corresponding teaching suggestions.The fifth part is on the basis of the research in the previous chapters,corresponding pedagogical recommendations are made.Firstly,traditional concepts should be changed,and teachers themselves should eliminate gender stereotypes,so as to help students establish correct gender concepts;secondly,through multiple interpretations,pay attention to the contemporary background and personality characteristics of female images,and analyze female images comprehensively;thirdly,through contextual teaching,create performance situations and problem situations to enhance the emotional empathy between students and female images,so that they can understand female images more deeply;fourthly,read and write together,and through circle teaching,create a symbiosis of female images.Fourthly,reading and writing together,through circling and annotating,reading aloud,understanding female images from different writing techniques,and improving students’ language application skills through the combination of reading and writing.
