A Case Study Of Rational Emotional Therapy Model Involving The Psychological Rehabilitation Of Severely Disabled People With Limbs

At present,there are a large number of disabled people in China.According to the data released by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation,the total number of disabled people in China is 85.02 million at the end of 2010,of which 25.18 million are severely disabled.And there are 59.84 million people with moderate and mild disabilities.And the problems related to the disabled have also attracted the attention of all sectors of society.At present,academic circles have carried out many researches on the disabled,mainly focusing on the rehabilitation,education,care and other aspects of the disabled.There are also many research results on social work intervention,but in terms of the selection of research objects,there are a few studies on severely disabled people,and there are even fewer psychological rehabilitation problems for severely disabled people with limbs.However,because of the particularity of the body,severely disabled people with limbs not only have to face physical defects,but also bear great psychological and social pressure.The state has gradually realized the importance of psychological rehabilitation for the disabled,and has tried to carry out related social services to gradually build a psychological rehabilitation system for the disabled.Therefore,it undoubtedly has important practical significance for the author’s practical research on the psychological problems of severely disabled people with limbs.In the X Social Work Service Center of Kaifu District,Changsha City,the author carries out special social work service practice for the disabled,taking solving the psychological problems of severely disabled people with limbs as the core of work,combining with rational emotional therapy mode,and the author uses case work-based service methods to alleviate all kinds of problems caused by physical disabilities to a certain extent,which improves the quality of life of disabled people.Through social work intervention for severely disabled people with limbs,combined with rational emotional therapy mode,the psychological problems of severely disabled people with limbs are found,and this study analyzes the irrational beliefs of the case owners and the causes of the problems.Then,on the basis of the operation steps of rational emotional therapy mode,the whole intervention process is divided into comprehension period,revision period and re-education period.By checking the irrational beliefs of the case owner,arguing with them,and assisting the case owner to establish rational beliefs,this study summarizes the service effects and effective methods of intervention in case work of severely disabled people in different situations,and at the same time,discusses the effective methods of social workers for disabled people intervening in severely disabled groups,finally,this study repeatedly demonstrates the practicability of rational emotional therapy mode in the front-line practice in the whole process of intervening in the plight of severely disabled people,which forms some experience for reference.It is found that the psychological problems of severely disabled people are more serious,mainly manifested as follows: low self-esteem,sensitivity,anxiety,etc.Their psychological rehabilitation needs to attract the attention of the society.Combined with rational emotional therapy mode,Social workers intervene in the emotional problems of severely disabled people with limbs,which has a good effect and can be popularized.At the same time,social workers also find that scholars’ social work interventions for the disabled mainly focus on physical rehabilitation,education and employment,and less stress the psychological problems of the disabled.However,the psychological problems of the disabled are not formed overnight,and it is difficult to intervene.In this process,the ability of social workers and their systems is the most important pillar of the whole intervention process.In terms of evaluation,the author adopts the methods of process evaluation and result evaluation,and finding that rational emotional therapy mode is more effective in intervening in the psychological rehabilitation of severely disabled cases.After the end of the case service,the case owner’s problems are obviously relieved,and they have the ability to face problems independently.
