With the reform and deepening development of basic education in our country,the cultivation of creativity has become one of the important objectives of education.According to relevant research,the period between 4 to 6 years old is a critical period for developing creative thinking in children.As they grow older,children gradually develop their creative awareness and transition from concrete and specific thinking to abstract and logical thinking,which is the "critical stage" for cultivating creativity.In 2021,the Ministry of Education issued the "Outline for the Development of Chinese Children(2021-2030)"(referred to as the "Outline"),which points out the importance of "stimulating students’ desire for knowledge and imagination,cultivating children’s innovative spirit and practical abilities,and encouraging personalized development of students with innovative potential." Therefore,focusing on cultivating children’s creativity is an important mission of early childhood education.Art is a direct manifestation of expressing creativity and music teaching activities are one of the effective ways to cultivate creativity in young children.Starting from the teaching strategies of cultivating creative music in preschool children,this study examines the status of cultivating creative music in preschool children by using literature,survey,interview and observation methods.The study found that teachers have a positive attitude towards cultivating music creativity;the goals of music teaching activities are mainly focused on music knowledge and skills;the implementation of music teaching activities is mainly through singing and improvisation,and the kindergarten pays attention to the evaluation of the effectiveness of music teaching activities.However,there are also some issues,such as insufficient emphasis on creativity in activity goals for preschool children,with teachers being mainly responsible for teaching methods.The activity organizational type is relatively simple,and the evaluation of music teaching activities focuses on results,overlooking the emotional expression of children’s music.The reasons for this are due to the weak educational concept of placing the child as the center for teaching among teachers,low levels of knowledge and skills for music creativity teaching among teachers,a lack of innovative methods in music teaching activity,and an emphasis on music knowledge and skills in teaching activity evaluation,overlooking the process of nurturing creativity.Based on the above analysis,it is recommended that teachers first establish teaching objectives that prioritize nurturing musical creativity in young children.Second,use a variety of methods to cultivate children’s musical creativity;.Third,they should incorporate the development of musical creativity into the teaching process based on musical activities.Fourth,they should pay attention to the process of evaluating and optimizing the development of musical creativity in young children in order to adhere to the principle of student-centered education.
