| The new high school biology curriculum standards emphasize the importance of developing students’ disciplinary core literacy as the foundation for teaching and education.This approach not only enhances students’ abilities but also prepares them for integration into society.Experimental teaching in biology is an effective method for helping students improve their scientific thinking and inquiry skills.This is achieved through experimental manipulation,observing results,and mastering the underlying knowledge.According to the report from the 19th Party Congress,a robust education system is crucial for building a strong education nation.This involves enhancing the coordinated development of education at all levels and in all regions,including urban and rural areas.Additionally,it entails enriching teaching methods and providing learners with appropriate educational approaches that promote their moral,intellectual,physical,social,aesthetic,and other aspects of development.Ultimately,the goal is to support the all-round growth and development of students.At present,the experimental teaching of biology in high schools is not optimistic due to the influence of various factors such as exam-oriented education,the popularity of information technology teaching and the laboratory equipment in schools.Especially in county schools,most teachers require students to memorise experimental knowledge in the form of “memorization”.They do not understand the principles of the experiments they are performing and other relevant experiments.Many schools are still stuck with "one textbook+one blackboard + one piece of chalk" to complete the entire classroom content.It is difficult to develop students’ subject core literacy.In some aspects of virtual simulation experiments can make up for the shortcomings brought by traditional experimental teaching,and virtual simulation experiments can enrich the school’s experimental teaching resources.How can virtual simulation experiments be efficiently used in high school biology laboratory teaching?How to carry out the in-depth integration of virtual simulation experiments with traditional experimental teaching? How to use virtual simulation to help students understand the experimental equipment and procedures used in the whole experiment in various ways? This is an in-depth study of how to visualise and present knowledge to help students understand abstract knowledge and develop their core literacy.The virtual simulation experiment software used in this research practice is NOBOOK Virtual Experiment.It is used to supplement traditional laboratory teaching in high school biology by means of teacher demonstrations and hands-on exercises for students.First,I analyzed the current situation of its research by reviewing domestic and international literature.On this basis,I prepared a questionnaire and distributed it online and offline to understand the current situation of biology laboratory teaching in some areas of Guangxi,the feasibility of applying virtual simulation experiments in high school biology laboratory teaching and students’ attitudes towards its use.The content of the Compulsory 1 laboratory course is drilled according to constructivism,cognitive load and other relevant educational theories.Designing high school biology laboratory teaching based on virtual simulation experiments.The senior students of a county senior secondary school in Nanning City were used as the subjects of the study.By carrying out practical teaching in experimental and control classes.To understand students’ classroom performance,learning outcomes and students’ attitudes on the different teaching methods.The results of the study showed that most of the students found the virtual simulation experiments very helpful in teaching the content of biology experiments in this practical teaching.It helps students to understand the purpose,principle,process and method of the experiment,and deepen the impression of the experimental steps as well as improve learning efficiency.To some extent,it can improve students’ classroom concentration.In the absence of experimental equipment and hands-on experiments,a host of students prefer teachers to use virtual simulation experiments to conduct relevant experimental lectures.The mean performance of the students in the experimental class was slightly higher than that of the control class,p<0.05,it was a significant difference.Through interviews with school teachers,we learned that most of the teachers are also willing to use virtual simulation experiments in their experimental teaching courses.They believe that the class time can be shortened to some extent.It helps students to observe the whole experimental phenomenon and increase their interest in learning. |
