| The scale of secondary vocational education is expanding rapidly, and the requirements for talent cultivation and teaching quality have increased accordingly. However,at present, many secondary vocational schools still adopt traditional classroom teaching, and the teaching activities and methods are monotonous, which is a poor learning experience for secondary vocational school students with weak academic foundation and poor learning methods."During the 14 th Five-Year Plan period,it is more urgent to promote the reform of information-based teaching and vocational education "three teaching reforms".The integration of modern information technology into vocational education teaching is not only the external boost of national policies, but also the endogenous drive of secondary vocational school teaching reform. In addition,in the post-epidemic period,online-offline blended teaching has become the new norm in education by virtue of its high rate of adoption and perceived benefits, and it has significant advantages in optimizing teaching, enhancing flexibility, promoting interactive participation and cultivating students’ knowledge and ability, which provides a new direction for teaching reform in secondary vocational education. It is a meaningful teaching attempt to apply blended teaching to such a fundamental professional core course as Introduction to Tourism in secondary vocational school, which can help change the realistic problems of teaching in secondary vocational school, promote students’ development and improve teaching quality. This study adopts the literature research method to analyse the current situation and development trend of blended teaching research at home and abroad using the Citespace visual analysis tool after reviewing and summarising the relevant literature. It also defines the main concepts involved in the study and elaborates on the theoretical foundations such as the inquiry community model, constructivist learning theory and the ARCS motivation model. The current teaching status of the Introduction to Tourism course in Tourism Service and Management major in secondary vocational schools is analysed through the survey and research method. It is found that the current teaching has problems such as teachers’ low level of awareness and ability to carry out information-based teaching, and the single design of course teaching. In order to improve the teaching status quo, this study draws on the experience of successful blended teaching and develops a front-end analysis of blended teaching according to the characteristics of the Introduction to Tourism course and teaching materials and the individual characteristics and knowledge bases of first-year students of Tourism Service and Management major in secondary vocational schools.Under the guidance of the theory of blended teaching, the "three stages and two main lines" online-offline blended teaching model is constructed using Smart Classroom as the online teaching service platform, and the teaching strategies, teaching activities, teaching environment and resources as well as teaching evaluation are planned and designed for the whole teaching stage.Afterwards, the application of blended teaching in the Introduction to Tourism course is practised. The task of "Getting to know the tourism agency" in Project 4,which is a reconstructed teaching content,is selected as a case study to illustrate the design and implementation process of blended teaching.Students’ learning performance and teaching effectiveness were analysed through questionnaires and statistical results of the platform to test the effectiveness of blended teaching applied to the teaching of Introduction to Tourism. The results of the study show that:(1)The "three stages and two main lines" online-offline blended teaching mode based on Smart Classroom can effectively promote students’ knowledge construction, significantly improve their learning performance and reduce the academic differences between students;(2)The rich independent learning resources,teacher-student communication and task-based learning in the blended teaching have increased the number of students with different styles and learning levels.(3)Blended teaching improves the efficiency of teachers’ teaching, and students complete the superficial objectives of knowledge understanding through the online independent learning session before class, while the teaching session during class focuses on the breakthrough of important and difficult knowledge and the development of students’ abilities, which improves the efficiency of classroom teaching and the achievement of teaching objectives. This study has improved the efficiency of classroom teaching and the extent to which teaching objectives are achieved, while promoting teachers’ information technology teaching ability. In terms of theory, this study constructs an online-offline blended teaching model with a dual main line of teachers and students, and in terms of practice,it develops a blended teaching application innovation guided by the community of inquiry model. The results of the study provide references and teaching design ideas for the application of blended teaching in the basic and theoretical courses of the tourism majors in secondary vocational education, which is of practical significance in promoting the teaching reform of secondary vocational education, and also helps to expand the theoretical applicability of the community of inquiry model in the blended teaching of secondary vocational education in China. |
