Situational teaching is a teaching method advocated by the new curriculum standard and an important part of Chinese teaching under the background of the new curriculum reform.Modern and contemporary prose is beautiful in language,rich in content and full of emotion,which can cultivate students’ thinking ability in images and enhance their aesthetic appreciation and creativity.Therefore,it is of great significance to introduce the situational teaching method into the classroom of modern and contemporary Chinese prose teaching in senior high schools for both teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.This study starts with the unified edition of senior high school Chinese textbooks,and actively seeks the convergence point between modern and contemporary prose teaching and situational teaching.The investigation methods include literature research,questionnaire survey,teaching observation and case analysis.Through the method of literature research,this paper analyzes the theoretical literature about situational teaching at home and abroad from the aspects of connotation,value,types and research status.At the same time,from the perspective of modern and contemporary prose teaching,this paper analyzes its connotation,value,lesson examples and research status,in order to find a meeting point for introducing situational teaching into modern and contemporary prose teaching.Based on cognitive learning theory,constructivism learning theory,situational cognition and learning theory and psychology of emotion theory,this study actively explores the value of introducing situational teaching into modern and contemporary prose teaching.Introducing situational teaching into modern and contemporary prose teaching,from the value point of view:firstly,situational teaching meets the requirements of curriculum standards;Secondly,situational teaching conforms to the characteristics of text selection in the unified edition;Finally,the design of situation can promote teachers’professional development.In addition,this study also designed two versions of questionnaires for teachers and students.Through SPSS data analysis,it is found that with the deepening of practice,the following problems are exposed in the situational teaching of modern and contemporary prose:first,in the teaching of teachers,the teaching goal points to the exclusion of situational teaching,the lack of research and innovation in situational teaching,and the lack of ability to create situations;Secondly,in terms of students’ learning,students are weak in Chinese knowledge and ability,passive in Chinese learning and lack of interest.In view of these problems,this paper puts forward the strategies of situational teaching of contemporary prose:before class,teachers should make preparations for situational creation;In class,teachers should pay attention to optimizing the method and application of situation creation;After class,teachers should pay attention to teaching reflection in time.
