Community governance is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges in our country.Its fundamental role in improving the nation’s literacy and people’s welfare,promoting education reform,building a harmonious society,and enhancing national strength is worthy of recognition.Nevertheless,It must be realized that our country’s community-based education system has not yet fully met the requirements of both the country’s economic and social development and people’s access to good education.Integrating community learning and development into community governance is a new task in community education today.In recent years,Chengdu Jinjiang has upheld“serving people’s needs and welfare" as the community education goal and actively linked its content,process and form with the crucial elements of social governance.It has accomplished solid and practical work by deeply integrating community development and governance with community education.By taking the lead in integrating community education and innovative society management in the city to further promote grassroots society governance,after several years of practice and exploration,it has achieved specific results that are highly recognized by relevant departments.Thesis explores community education that aims at innovating social governance in the Jinjiang District of Chengdu City.First,the background and significance of the chosen topic,the status of research at home and abroad,and the theoretical basis of these research ideas and methods are examined.Then,through case studies of community education work in specific streets and communities,how effective community management can be achieved is discussed.At the same time,in conjunction with the collection of various materials related to the case,suggestions are made for the design and implementation of community education that is better integrated with community management.Thesis states that to better grassroots education work through community education,we need to build a community education disciplinary system,utilise the role of talents in the community,enrich education courses with community characteristics,and build a diverse cooperation platform.The primacy of street and community education centres should be unequivocal.The leading role of social organizations should also be respected in pushing forward the transformation of government functions through planning,guidance,support,supervision and other means for effective conceptual change.And the fundamental status of people needs to be appreciated when it comes to establishing a compelling link between the public welfare services of social organizations and people’s various educational needs.In addition,residents’ awareness of participation should be cultivated,residents should be actively involved in community education activities as volunteers,students,teachers,etc.,and folk wisdom and pioneering spirit should be given full play.Finally,it is necessary to pay attention to the combination with the high-level regional design based on local advantages to extract the working methods for continuing community education at various nodes of social management innovation.
