Due to the lack of parental supervision, most of the left-behind children in rural areas who receive generational supervision lack effective safety and self-protection education in their own cognitive behavior, standardized cultivation and other aspects, which also leads to a more prominent out-of-school safety problem for rural left-behind children.Taking the project of "Building Away Action" in J community as an example, this paper analyzes and studies the intervention service process of improving the after-school safety and self-care ability of left-behind children in J community by means of questionnaire survey, participant observation and semi-structured interview.By analyzing the process and effect of social work intervention in the after-school safety and self-care of left-behind children in J Community’s "Build Away Action" project, evaluating the effect of social work intervention, and summarizing effective methods and models to improve the safe after-school self-care ability of left-behind children in rural areas. It is expected to accumulate experience and provide reference for social work to better intervene in improving the safety and self-care ability of left-behind children in rural communities. The results of this study show that the problem of safety and self-protection of rural left-behind children outside school is not only limited by their own weakness, lack of supervision by guardians, lack of safety education in schools, inadequate community safety management and other factors, but also related to the lack of sensitivity to safety situations outside school, lack of safety knowledge outside school and low ability of safety and self-protection outside school.Through the "Fencing Action" project, social workers provide intervention services by means of individual cases and groups to help left-behind children in J community learn and master knowledge and skills about safety and self-protection outside school in daily life situations, improve their safety and self-protection ability outside school, and achieve the purpose of protecting their lives. At the end of the paper, combined with the research of the project, the service process and the shortcomings of the research are reflected. At the same time,in order to better resolve the rural left-behind children outside school safety problems, and put forward relevant suggestions.
