The Narrative Path And Meaning Construction Of Chinese Sports Stories From The Perspective Of Multimodal Metaphor

Telling Chinese stories and spreading Chinese voices is an important way to build a rich and diverse image of China,show the extensive and profound Chinese culture,and enhance the power of international discourse.Therefore,based on the theory of multi-modal metaphor and narratology,this paper uses multi-modal discourse analysis method and text analysis method to analyze the metaphor of ice and snow sports movies released in China since the founding of the PRC,aiming at exploring how Chinese ice and snow sports movies narrate and what meanings they convey,in order to improve the narrative strategy of Chinese sports stories.To provide a better reference for the "sports voice" with Chinese characteristics in the world.Based on the metaphor analysis of the 7 ice and snow sports movies released since the founding of the People’s Liberation of China,this study made a further "pull film" text analysis of these 7 ice and snow sports movies from the three dimensions of narrative plot,sports characters and narrative structure,and found that their narrative path could be roughly summarized into the following four stages:After the founding of the People’s Republic of China and before the reform and opening up,the narrative path of ice and snow sports movies is reflected in the creation of win-loss first narrative plot,the setting of sports heroes,and the construction of traditional causal linear structure.After the reform and opening up and before the Beijing Olympic Games,the narrative path of ice and snow sports movies shows the change of action from "competition" to "people",from "elite" to "mass",and the change of narrative structure construction from the characterization,memory and interweaving.After the Beijing Olympic Games and before the Beijing Winter Olympics,the narrative path of ice and snow sports movies is shown in setting the narrative plot centering on the philosophical thinking of individual mind,shaping the sports masses with vivid images,and constructing the narrative structure of causation and interweaving.Since the Beijing Winter Olympics,the narrative path of ice and snow sports movies has been reflected in the creation of narrative plots that blend multiple elements,the shaping of sports figures with different identities,and the construction of diversified narrative structures.On this basis,the author summarizes the meanings of different stages of Chinese ice and snow sports movies through metaphors: after the founding of the People’s Republic of China-before the reform and opening up,ice and snow sports movies mainly show a result-oriented view of political sports;After the reform and opening up-before the Beijing Olympic Games,the ice and snow sports movies show the value shift from "politics" to "humanity";After the Beijing Olympic Games and before the Beijing Winter Olympics,the ice and snow sports movies spread the people-oriented humanistic and social sports values.Since the Beijing Winter Olympics,the ice and snow sports movies have constructed the sports concept of diversified development.By analyzing the narrative path and meaning construction of ice and snow sports movies since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the deficiencies of current ice and snow sports movies can be more clearly defined,so as to provide reference value for future ice and snow sports movies to tell Chinese sports stories well.
