The concept of space-time was a way of observing,analyzing,and thinking about things in specific space-time contexts in the past.The concept of space-time not only held a foundational position in the core literacy of historical disciplines,but also embodied the essence of the discipline of history.Historical materials were important tools for people to understand the past,and the new curriculum standards also pointed out that historical material evidence was a necessary means for achieving all kinds of literacy.Therefore,using historical materials to cultivate students’ concept of time was a necessary approach to implementing the core literacy of the discipline of history.Based on this,this paper attempted to use historical materials to cultivate students’ core literacy of space-time concepts,in order to enrich the cultivation strategies of the core literacy of space-time concepts and promote the common development of the five core literacy of the discipline of history.This paper was mainly divided into four parts: In the first chapter,the author defined the concepts of space-time and historical materials,and pointed out the relationship between the two,the importance of using historical materials to cultivate students’ space-time concepts,and related educational theories.In the second chapter,the author analyzed the problems existing in the cultivation of space-time concepts in current high school history teaching through student questionnaires and test questions,combined with the results of teacher interviews.In the third chapter,based on the analysis results and related educational theories,the author improved the original cultivation methods,taking historical materials from the Song and Yuan dynasties as examples,and proposed four cultivation strategies according to the requirements of the spacetime concept curriculum objectives: using timelines,chronicles,and historical materials to help students sort out the context of historical development;promoting the historical tradition of integrating graphics and texts to help students construct the space-time connection between historical events;using historical materials to create historical situations to guide students in reasonably interpreting history;and connecting the present with the past to exercise students’ ability to understand society using space-time thinking.In the fourth chapter,the author designed a teaching plan for the lesson "The Rule of Liao,Xia,Jin,and Yuan Dynasties," aiming to present a complete display of the cultivation strategies.
