The whole book reading idea was put forward by scholars for a long time,and after the reform of the new curriculum in 2017,it once again entered the public vision as the first learning task group,and became a hot spot in high school Chinese teaching research in recent years.Reading the whole book can help students improve their appreciation ability,broaden their horizons,and form correct three views in reading,which shows the importance of reading the whole book.But students have a lot of problems when reading whole books,and teachers have challenges when teaching whole book reading.Taking three rural high schools in Yangzhou as an example,the author explores the whole book reading teaching of rural high schools in Yangzhou City,investigates and analyzes the problems arising in teaching,and puts forward his own views,hoping to promote the development of whole book reading in rural high schools,improve students’ reading ability,and let students think deeply.The main contents explored in this article are divided into the following parts:Introduction,explain the origin of research,the purpose and significance of research,and sort out and summarize the research content of domestic and foreign scholars through core journal networks and other channels.By defining concepts such as whole books and reading whole books,practical research methods are proposed.The first chapter is the current situation and existing problems of reading the whole book in Yangzhou rural high school.In the form of questionnaire survey,research was carried out from the two aspects of students and teachers,and according to the data,the current situation of reading the whole book of rural high school students in Yangzhou City and the current situation of the whole book reading teaching of teachers were sorted out and analyzed,and the current situation was analyzed in depth,and the problems existing in the whole book reading teaching were summarized.Problems with students’ reading of the whole book: lack of interest in reading,lack of reading plan;Teachers’ problems in reading teaching the whole book: lack of guidance,single evaluation methods.Chapter 2,Reading Teaching Strategies for Rural High Schools in Yangzhou City.Based on the existing problems,according to the characteristics of students in three rural high schools in Yangzhou,teaching strategies were proposed from the teacher level:stimulate reading interest,increase reading guidance,strengthen reading motivation,and optimize reading evaluation.Pay attention to the language literacy and reading ability of rural high school students in Yangzhou to promote the smooth reading of whole books in high school.Chapter 3,"Dream of Red Mansions" whole book reading teaching case.Taking "Dream of Red Mansions" as an example,the author applies the teaching strategies of Chapter 2 to the whole book reading teaching,displays the research results through teaching design,and finally conducts teaching reflection based on students and teachers to optimize teaching strategies.
