| With the continuous development of Chinese language curriculum standards,whole-book reading has been incorporated into the "learning tasks" of the Chinese language in compulsory education,and reading whole books has become increasingly valued.Compared with reading single passages,"whole-book reading" is conducive to broadening students’ knowledge and improving their reading ability.This thesis uses Selected Poems by Ai Qing,a recommended book in the "Introduction to Masterpieces" in the Volume Ⅰ of Grade 9 of the Chinese language textbook edited by the Ministry of Education,as the research object.This thesis firstly makes an overview of the whole-book reading of Selected Poems by Ai Qing.For teaching objectives,the thesis claims to focus on students’ core language literacy and to pay attention to cultivating students’ reading ability and interest.For teaching content,it is proposed to base it on students’ reading needs,explore the connotation of the text,and study the standards and teaching materials.For the implementation of teaching,it is presented to focus on pedagogical and activity-based teaching.For teaching evaluation,this thesis suggests that we should focus on multiple forms and subjects for teaching evaluation,and discusses the significance of teaching the whole-book reading of Selected Poems by Ai Qing in four aspects:language,thinking,aesthetics and culture.Secondly,this thesis uses the questionnaire survey and interview,and takes two middle schools as the research objects,combining with the current teachers’ teaching and students’ learning situation,to sort out the main problems of current teaching.On the teachers’ side,there are problems such as teaching objectives being biased towards test-taking,teaching contents are not comprehensive,teaching lacking reasonable planning,and the teaching evaluation system is not sound.On the students’ side,there are problems like strong casualness in reading,superficiality in reading,great hindrance in reading and lack of reading interest.On the school side,there are problems like unreasonable reading schedules,lack of reading resources and relevant training for teachers.On the family side,there are problems such as outdated reading concepts,and parents not setting an example.At the same time,this thesis analyses the causes of the problems and provides a realistic basis for teaching practice.Thirdly,this thesis provides a systematic teaching design for the whole book reading of Selected Poems by Ai Qing,taking the current teaching situation into account.In terms of teaching objectives,they are set around core language literacy.In terms of teaching content,the whole book is divided into informative,literary and thematic teaching content.In terms of teaching arrangements,specific arrangements are set in three stages: the read-through stage,the intensive reading stage and the integration stage.In terms of teaching evaluation,an evaluation scale combining process and summative assessment is developed.Finally,the teaching procedure for the whole book reading is examined according to the three stages of the teaching arrangement.In the general reading stage,teachers should stimulate students’ interest in reading through poetry reading sessions,guide them to gain an overall sense of the content of the whole book,and finally provide them with guidance on general reading.In the intensive reading stage,teachers should go deeper into the text in the form of thematic inquiry and summarize the methods of reading poetry.In the integration stage,teachers should guide students to expand their reading and let them do poetry writing,focus on the internalization process of learning,and complete assessment of students’ whole book reading.Throughout the teaching procedure,teachers and students need to work together as a way to build a showcase for students,create an efficient reading environment and enhance students’ core language literacy. |
