| Breast cancer is one of the main malignant tumor that damages women’s health. In 2020,nearly 42 million breast cancer patients were diagnosed in China, accounting for 7%-10% of the incidence rate of malignant tumors in China, ranking the first position in the morbidity of malignancies in women, which is twice the world average level. As a mental disorder, depression is common in the middle and late stages of breast cancer treatment, and has a negative impact on patients’ psychological rehabilitation.Although the government is gradually improving the preferential treatment subsidy policy for breast cancer patients,it pays less attention to the psychological intervention needs of patients, which also requires the intervention of social work professionals. In China,as a high incidence group of breast cancer,middle-aged and elderly women will not only suffer from the pain of breast cancer, but also suffer from depression, which endangers the physical and mental health of patients. At present,in terms of the negative psychological problems of middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients, the relevant research is mostly from the medical and psychological perspectives, and the research from the perspective of social work practice intervention is relatively scarce.Consequently, according to cognitive behavioral theory and social support theory, this study takes the middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients in the oncology department of Z Hospital as the research object, and summarizes the depressive factors and depressive emotion performance of middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients, analyzing the needs of middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients, and helps middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients adjust their depressive mood and help patients recover from disease through group work intervention. The study conducts a preliminary survey on depression among 34 middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients in the oncology department of Z Hospital by issuing the Self Rating Depression Scale. The survey found that nearly two thirds of the patients generally had mild depression and above.Depression had a negative impact on the daily life, family relations, mental health and other aspects of middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients.Based on the above problem background, the author selected the middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients with mild depression and above in the oncology department of Z Hospital as the survey objects, designed and participated in 6 group activities with the theme of regulating patients’ depression, and served 13 people in total.According to the group evaluation results,it can be concluded that the depression of the group members has been adjusted to a certain extent, and they have basically completed the goals of the group work. The group members are highly satisfied with the practical work of this group. Finally, the author made suggestions and reflections on the depression regulation of middle-aged and elderly breast cancer patients involved in this group work, hoping to provide feasible ideas for future research. |
