| The new curriculum standards of high schools focus on the development of students’ core competencies,encourage the selection and design of “interdisciplinary”learning activities,strengthen consistency between disciplines and promote the integration of curriculum and practice,which put forward new requirements for the learning of interdisciplinary biology subject in high school.The subject of the “Basic laws of Heredity” involves multidisciplinary content,which is a relatively representative subject in the interdisciplinary biology teaching and learning of high school biology.Taking “the Basic Laws of Heredity” as a case study to analyze the causes and countermeasures of students’ learning difficulty in interdisciplinary biology subject in high school,so as to provide some theoretical and practical references for teachers to carry out interdisciplinary subject learning activities.From two dimensions of the interdisciplinary learning subject of “Basic Laws of Heredity” and the “learning difficulty”,this study adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate and collect data among high school students and some biology teachers of S Middle School in H City,Qinghai Province,and carries out the research though examination and diagnosis method,quasi-experimental research method and case analysis method.The statistical data is processed and analyzed by SPSS software.In accordance with the analysis result,it can be found that the difficulties of knowledge students encounter in the “Basic Laws of Heredity” mainly are the confusion of basic concepts about heredity,application and calculation of basic laws of heredity and analysis of genetic phenomena,which are caused by the reasons of teachers and students,including students’ weak knowledge foundation,low level of knowledge organization ability,limited learning basis of other disciplines,lack of interest in the interdisciplinary topic of heredity,bad learning habits and learning mentality.In terms of teachers,there are problems of single teaching method,insufficient interdisciplinary teaching thinking,arbitrary increase of difficulty of teaching and exercise,etc.All of these contribute to the learning difficulty to a certain extent.In this regard,this study proposes strategies,such as transforming motivation to cultivate interest,focusing on connection to sort out framework,cultivating interdisciplinary ability to improve comprehensive capability,developing habits to use guidance methods,flexible teaching to control depth,in-class micro-testing and selective homework.In addition,it carries out teaching practice of this interdisciplinary subject in experimental classes.As the previous test analysis showed,there was no significant difference between the performance of the experimental class and the control class,which met the conditions for carrying out practical investigation.It can be seen the performance of both the experimental class and the control class improved through a comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test result,but the improvement of experimental class was more significantly.The above research results indicate that the countermeasures to solve the learning difficulty of “Basic Laws of Heredity” proposed in this study are effective,which can provide ideas and references for the research on coping with the learning difficulty problem and teaching practice activities of other interdisciplinary biology subjects.This study has some shortcomings in sample size,interdisciplinary biology teaching subjects involved,interdisciplinary teaching practice forms as well as research time.In the follow-up research,it can be improved through extending the sample size of the investigation and conducting other interdisciplinary biology subject teaching,so as to enrich the classroom form of practical research,expand the time of practical research and involve more factors influencing teaching activities. |
