Since globalization entered the 3.0 era, there has been frequent exchange of information and population around the world, and the deepening connection between countries in political and economic fields has also produced many global problems. All countries have realized the need to cultivate international talents to enhance global cooperation and seek sustainable development on a global scale, which coincides with the concept of "community with a shared future for mankind".In order to improve our international core competitiveness and global governance participation in order to promote sustainable development,it is a historical responsibility for our education to train talents with global competence.Geography, with its temporal and spatial characteristics, regionality and comprehensiveness, plays a unique role in cultivating students’ global competency. Moreover, high school geography textbooks contain abundant materials for cultivating global competency. In addition, geography core literacy and global competency education share a common spiritual core in "educating people".Through understanding the current situation of global competency training in high school geography teaching,it is of theoretical and practical significance to explore the teaching principles and promotion strategies of global competency training in high school geography teaching.Based on the above analysis, this paper mainly focuses on the necessity and importance of cultivating students’ global competency in high school geography teaching, the current situation of cultivating students’ global competency in high school geography teaching, and the strategy of cultivating students’ global competency in high school geography teaching.Firstly, this paper uses the method of literature research to sort out the content of global competency cultivation contained in the high school geography textbooks of the human education edition in detail, and makes a thought about the relationship between high school geography teaching, curriculum standards of high school geography and students’ global competency cultivation.Secondly, questionnaire survey is used to conduct field research on two teaching subjects, namely students and teachers,to understand the current status of global competency training in high school geography teaching, and to discuss and analyze the status quo.In addition, based on the analysis of the problems and causes in the cultivation of students’ global competency in the current high school geography teaching, the principles and improvement strategies for the cultivation of students’ global competency in the high school geography teaching are proposed combined with relevant teaching theories. Finally, combined with the teaching design framework of Professor Li Jiaqing, the case analysis method is used to present the teaching cases of cultivating students’ global competency in high school geography teaching, and the analysis is carried out.The research conclusions are as follows:1.According to the questionnaire survey,at present, more than 90% of teachers and students believe that the cultivation of global competency is very necessary, and they are willing to adjust their teaching and learning status in various ways to participate in the cultivation of global competency. However,in the actual teaching process, there are two problems: weak global education consciousness in senior high school education and blindness and randomness in the cultivation of students’ global competency.Based on these two aspects, the questions are refined into six points:There are few relevant policies and not guaranteed implementation, lack of guidance from international functional institutions,no standard system for global awareness training for teachers, teachers’ misunderstanding of global competency education, too hidden content about global competency in textbooks, insufficient development and mining of relevant teaching resources, and re-examination of the basic knowledge of global geography, teaching methods and teaching reflection The evaluation method is too simple and shallow.2.According to the training status and reasons in the previous research,it is proposed that the cultivation of students’ global competency in high school teaching should follow the principles of core literacy, appropriateness and integration. It also puts forward five specific promotion strategies to implement the concept of global education, coordinate education of subjects, refine the combination of core geographical literacy objectives and global competency training, dig geographical materials, expand multiple teaching resources, flexibly use a variety of teaching methods and emphasize process experience, and perfect the evaluation system in an attempt to improve the training status.3.Based on the above principles and strategies, the teaching case design is carried out by taking the lesson Global Climate Change as an example,in order to provide reference for teachers to cultivate students’ global competency in high school geography teaching.
