With the deepening development of curriculum reform,the country is increasingly emphasizing the cultivation of teaching and research abilities of primary and secondary school physical education teachers,emphasizing the curriculum awareness of "teaching is research".However,there is currently no evaluation tool for the teaching and research abilities of primary and secondary school physical education teachers.Therefore,this research adopts such research methods as literature review,interview,questionnaire survey,mathematical statistics,strictly in accordance with the requirements of psychological measurement,and takes 1337 PE teachers in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou as the survey objects.Through the preparation,revision and verification of the prediction questionnaire,this research develops the "Evaluation Scale of Teaching and Research Ability of PE Teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools",And use it as a tool to evaluate the teaching and research abilities of physical education teachers in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou.This study mainly includes four parts:(1)Construction of evaluation framework.Based on relevant literature and interviews with experts,a preliminary evaluation framework is proposed,and relevant items are compiled through the evaluation framework;(2)Development of the "Teaching and Research Ability Evaluation Scale for Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Teachers".Selecting 793 physical education teachers from primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou,through project analysis,exploratory factor analysis,reliability testing,and confirmatory factor analysis,a formal scale consisting of 35 items was obtained from 4 dimensions;(3)Determination of scale dimensions and item weights.Calculate the weight coefficients of dimensions and items using normalization methods;(4)Formal scale measurement.Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted on 544 questionnaires collected to determine the mastery of teaching and research abilities of primary and secondary school physical education teachers in Guangzhou,as well as the differences in demographic characteristics.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The "Teaching and Research Ability Evaluation Scale for Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Teachers" consists of four dimensions: research awareness,problem orientation ability,problem analysis ability,and problem solving ability,with 35 items.(2)The "Evaluation Scale for Teaching and Research Ability of Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Teachers" has good reliability and validity,and the fit of all indicators meets the standard,meeting the requirements of psychological measurement.It can be used as a tool for evaluating the teaching and research ability of primary and secondary school physical education teachers.(3)The weights of each dimension in the "Evaluation Scale for Teaching and Research Ability of Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Teachers" are: problem analysis ability 0.270,problem orientation ability 0.258,problem solving ability 0.240,and research awareness 0.232.(4)The "Evaluation Scale for Teaching and Research Ability of Primary and Secondary School Physical Education Teachers" is used to evaluate the teaching and research ability of primary and secondary school physical education teachers in Guangzhou.The basic information of teachers is as follows: 1)The teaching and research ability of primary and secondary school physical education teachers has the highest score in research awareness and problem orientation ability,followed by problem analysis ability and problem solving ability;2)There is no significant difference in the teaching research ability of primary and secondary school physical education teachers of different genders and teaching stages among various elements;3)There is a significant difference in the teaching and research abilities of primary and secondary school physical education teachers with different educational backgrounds,teaching experience,and professional titles among various elements.With the improvement of educational backgrounds and teaching experience,the level of teachers’ various abilities becomes higher and higher.In terms of professional titles,there is a significant difference between senior physical education teachers and other professional title physical education teachers;There is a significant difference between primary and secondary physical education teachers and tertiary and non professional physical education teachers;There is no significant difference between primary and secondary physical education teachers.
