Teaching ideology and politics as subjects in the grammar school curriculum has the important task of "moral education," but it does not play a satisfactory role in actual learning.Aesthetic education is an educational activity based on aesthetic concepts and using specific forms of expression to promote the satisfaction and harmonious development of the mind and body of teachers and students and to achieve the highest learning effect.The introduction of aesthetic education into ideological and political education in middle schools can not only improve traditional teaching methods,but also change existing problems in ideological and political education in middle schools and promote the development of students with innovative spirit,ability,and comprehensive development.This paper discusses aesthetics education of ideology and politics in middle schools based on Marxist aesthetics theory,General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discussions on aesthetics education,and the relevant requirements of the new curriculum in middle schools.Over the years,aesthetics education has played an important role in China’s educational development,but problems remain in the current aesthetics education in ideology and politics classes in middle schools,such as a lack of clear recognition of aesthetics education across subjects,neglect of integrating aesthetics goals into learning objectives,and the dominance of paper-and-pencil tests in teaching and evaluation.The paper-and-pencil examinations predominate in instructional evaluation,and other problems remain.Therefore,this paper analyzes the shortcomings of aesthetic education based on the survey data conducted during the pedagogical experiment and concludes that the main reasons affecting the use of aesthetic education in ideological and political classes in secondary schools are the tendency to teach according to an examination system,teachers’ cognitive errors and lack of aesthetic skills,and students’ aesthetic awareness and skills.The study concluded that the main reasons are.In order to maximize the role of aesthetics education in higher education ideological and political education and thus increase its effectiveness,this study begins with the main actors of education: teachers and students.Teachers need to establish the concept of aesthetic education and recognize the organic relationship between inner and outer beauty.Students need to strengthen aesthetic education,promote aesthetic design,and fully utilize beauty in the curriculum to explore strategies for aesthetic education in ideological and political subjects in secondary education and realize its effectiveness.
