In the course of curriculum reform, students’ classroom learning has gradually become the focus of many researchers, and students’ participation level can indicate whether students’ classroom subject status is realized or not to a certain extent.Students’ cognitive participation is the core of students’ participation. It is meaningful to study students’ cognitive participation level, influencing factors and promoting ways in biology class.Based on the current situation of students’ cognitive participation level in biology class, this paper explores the strength of the correlation between cognitive participation level and its influencing factors, and explores whether PBL guidance plan can promote students’ cognitive participation level in class.Through literature collation and reading, this paper summarizes the theoretical basis and research status of students’ cognitive participation and its influencing factors.Using questionnaire survey, case study, interview and other methods, taking students from two classes of Senior one of a middle school in Zhaotong,Yunnan Province as the research objects, this paper investigated and studied the differences of cognitive participation levels of high school students in biology classes of different classes, different genders and different units and the correlation of influencing factors, and reached the following conclusions:(1)students’ cognitive participation in biology class is low,low level and medium-low level of cognitive participation account for a relatively medium-high and high level of cognitive participation account for a relatively low proportion. The overall level difference of students’ cognitive participation among different classes is not significant, but there is a significant difference in the middle-high level of cognitive participation. In class A,there are differences in middle level cognitive participation of students of different genders, while in Class B,there are also differences in middle-low level cognitive participation and high level cognitive participation.(2)The influencing factors questionnaire had a strong correlation with students’ cognitive participation level, while the first-level dimensions of "student background, learning content, teacher teaching, social emotional support, teacher evaluation and feedback" had a moderate correlation with students’ cognitive participation level in biology class. The questionnaire showed that "teaching process and teaching content" were moderately correlated with students’ cognitive participation level, while teachers’ teaching enthusiasm, classroom management, social emotional support and teacher-student relationship were not correlated with students’ cognitive participation level.(3)The teaching practice shows that PBL guide plan can promote the proportion of students with high level and high level cognitive participation, but the level of students’ cognitive participation may be affected by many factors. At the same time, the overall level of cognitive participation of the two classes in different units, the level of male students in the middle and low level, middle and high level of cognitive participation showed significant differences;Learning objectives,self-efficacy,learning content, adaptation to teachers, classroom management, social emotional support and teaching process in different units of learning are the factors that affect students’ cognitive participation level.(4)The interview results of Interviewing with teachers and students believe that PBL guide plan can arouse students’ awareness of thinking problems, promote students’ cognitive participation level, contribute to students’ learning, change students’ classroom learning style, and also serve as an auxiliary tool for teachers to teach new lessons.
