Education in the 21 st century is quietly changing.China’s education must be reformed to meet the requirements of the future, adhere to the orientation of core literacy, and innovate teaching methods. In April 2022,the Curriculum Standard of Morality and Rule of Law in Compulsory Education(2022)pointed out that it is necessary to actively explore Project-based Teaching method, guide students to participate in experience, and promote perception and construction. Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the implementation path of Project-based Learning(PBL)in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law” in junior middle school and to promote the effective implementation of the core literacy of “Morality and Rule of Law”.First of all, this paper adopts the method of literature research to sort out the relevant theoretical knowledge of PBL and establishes the relationship between the course of “Morality and the Rule of Law” and PBL.It also shows the consistency between them in strengthening the overall education, emphasizing the comprehensive education, adhering to the goal orientation of core literacy, comprehensively using a variety of evaluation methods, and insisting on the unity of teacher-led and student-oriented.It reflects the feasibility of applying PBL to the course of “Morality and Rule of Law ”in junior middle school.Secondly,it presents the value and effectiveness of PBL in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law” in junior middle school from the point of view of teachers and students. The application of PBL in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law” in junior middle school is beneficial to the exertion of teachers’ leading role, the embodiment of students’ dominant position, the enhancement of teachers’ lifelong learning consciousness and the promotion of students’ personality development. It promotes the continuous renewal of teachers’ teaching ideas, the continuous improvement of teaching ability, the enrichment of students’ practical experience and the continuous improvement of students’ interest in learning.Thirdly, through field investigation, using the methods of interview and questionnaire,it is found that there are some problems in the application of PBL in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law ”in junior middle school. These problems include that teachers do not pay enough attention to PBL,students’ classroom participation is not high, students’ teamwork is not deep, students fill in the evaluation scale is not objective enough, and the main body of classroom evaluation is not diversified.Through the attribution of these problems, the reasons for these problems include teachers’ lack of understanding of the value of PBL,lack of interest in the classroom, insufficient support from teachers to students’ teamwork, lack of students’ understanding of the importance of performance evaluation, and teachers’ lack of design for classroom multi-subject evaluation. Finally, based on these problems and reasons, the optimization strategies are put forward pertinently. These strategies include the school strengthens the thematic training of PBL for teachers, teachers make great efforts to enhance the interest of the classroom, teachers set up PBL teams scientifically, teachers give full evaluation guidance to students, teachers make great efforts to design multi-subject evaluation. And a PBL design case of “lifting the veil of emotion” of “Morality and Rule of Law” is to be presented to explore the feasible way of applying PBL to “Morality and Rule of Law” in junior middle school. In short, although this study has explored a feasible path for the application of PBL in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law” in junior middle school,it is still being deepened and improved.I hope it can provide some reference for teachers to apply PBL in the course of “Morality and Rule of Law”in junior middle school.
