It is necessary to cultivate students ’ scientific reasoning ability in physics teaching,which is the demand for talents in the development of the times.China ’s "General Physics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition 2020 Revision)" requires students to apply scientific methods,conduct scientific reasoning from qualitative to quantitative,find out the rules,form conclusions,and explain practical problems,so as to develop students ’ physics subject core competence.Middle school physics is a complete system composed of basic concepts and basic laws.As the core element of the physical discipline system,the physical law needs to go through the process of observation and experiment,induction and deduction.Scientific reasoning permeates every link of students ’ learning of physical laws,so the teaching of physical laws is of great value to the cultivation of students ’ scientific reasoning ability.This study defines the related concepts of scientific reasoning and scientific reasoning ability by consulting the relevant literature of scientific reasoning at home and abroad,and analyzes the meaning of different dimensions of scientific reasoning ability.Based on the current situation of high school students ’ scientific reasoning ability,this paper puts forward some strategies to cultivate students ’ scientific reasoning ability in high school physics teaching :(1)Create problem situations,guide students to discover and ask questions;(2)Implement scientific inquiry to promote students to complete knowledge construction;(3)Discuss the laws of physics to help students understand the physical meaning;(4)Apply physical laws to encourage students to solve practical problems.Taking the learning content of Newton ’s second law as an example,the corresponding teaching design is made.Taking the students of four parallel classes in grade one of an experimental middle school in S city as the research subjects,a three-month teaching practice was carried out.The practical results show that the strategy of cultivating students ’scientific reasoning ability in high school physics law teaching can improve students ’physics academic performance and improve students ’ scientific reasoning ability.
