| With the publication of the "General High School Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition,Revised in 2020)",China’s physical education has undergone tremendous changes. The focus of this curriculum reform is to enhance students’ "core competencies in physical education".Under this background, the importance of basketball module teaching not only reflects its elevated position in the Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards, but also includes the addition of relevant compulsory and elective courses. How to follow the laws of high school students’ physical and mental development, and effectively improve students’ basketball skills and physical fitness through basketball module teaching in a fun way has become the focus of attention for physical education teachers and researchers.Since the implementation of the new curriculum standards, more and more physical education practitioners have been conducting exploratory research on teaching modes.STAD teaching mode,as a teacher-led and student-centered teaching method, provides a new direction for middle school basketball education. This study selected 90 students from the second year of high school at Dingyuan Middle School as the experimental subjects(45 students in the experimental group and 45 students in the control group)to conduct a twelve-week teaching experiment using literature data method, questionnaire survey method, expert interview method, experimental method, and mathematical statistics method.By applying the STAD teaching mode and dividing students into an experimental group and a control group, changes in students’ physical fitness, basketball skills, teamwork awareness, and learning attitudes were observed. Thus, the feasibility and effectiveness of the STAD teaching mode in high school basketball module teaching were evaluated.Research results:The P values of the experimental group and the control group in half-court dribbling,90-second fixed-point shooting, and triangle movement passing and receiving skills all reached statistical significance(P<0.05),and there were significant differences in technical evaluation between the two groups. The P values of the t-tests on negative physical education interest, positive physical education interest, sports participation, autonomous learning and attention to physical education between the experimental group and the control group were all less than 0.05.From the perspective of physical education interest, there was hardly any chatting or disengagement among female students during class. The P values of the physical education learning cooperation spirit(0.013)and emotional expression cooperation(0.024)between the experimental group and the control group were both less than0.05.This indicates that the STAD teaching mode has made significant improvements in cultivating students’ concentration, interest, and cooperation spirit compared to the existing teaching modes.Research conclusion :1.The STAD teaching method and the existing teaching method have achieved certain results in the special physical fitness teaching of basketball courses, each with its advantages. However, due to the short teaching time and insufficient experimental period, the students in the two classes did not show significant differences in physical fitness performance.2.In terms of improving basketball special skills, compared with the control group, the experimental group using the STAD teaching method has improved in sports performance such as 90-second fixed-point shooting,half-court dribbling and shooting, and triangle movement passing and receiving, which helps to master the theoretical knowledge system more deeply.3.Applying the STAD teaching method to high school basketball classrooms, students have shown better interest, attention, and participation in basketball than those in the control group. They can also learn autonomously and master basketball skills through team cooperation, including better final grades than those in the control group.4.In high school basketball classrooms, the use of the STAD teaching method has significantly improved students’ emotional expression and cooperative ability, which helps to more effectively cultivate students’ team spirit and mutual support qualities. |
