The early childhood stage is the cornerstone of a person’s lifelong development,and by educating children in science during this period,children’s interest and initiative in learning can be mobilised,helping them to acquire learning styles that will benefit them for the rest of their lives and gradually improving their logical thinking skills.Picture books are a popular form of reading for children,with their beautiful pictures,colourful themes and rich content for science education.This paper examines the design of science education activities in kindergartens,aiming to improve children’s scientific literacy as well as teachers’ teaching skills by integrating picture books into science education activities.Translated with www.Deep L.com/Translator(free version)The study is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and origin of the research,defines the concepts of "picture book","science picture book" and "science education activities",and also sorts out the relevant literature research at home and abroad.The second part describes the research proposal.It mainly includes the introduction and explanation of research objects and participants,research objectives and significance,and research ideas and methods.The third part is the current situation and analysis of using picture books to carry out science education in kindergarten.By investigating teachers’ understanding and attitude towards picture books,as well as the specific situation of using picture books to carry out science education activities,we will understand the current situation of science education in kindergartens.The fourth part is based on picture books to carry out research on the application of science education in kindergartens.This part mainly includes the establishment of activity objectives and content in the practice plan,the screening and determination of practical picture books,the design of activity ideas and plans,and the teaching practice of a middle school child in Baotou Y Kindergarten,exploring the practical research of using picture books to carry out science education,and analyzing and reflecting on the implementation effect and research shortcomings.The fifth part is the conclusions and recommendations of the study.This part mainly expounds the educational suggestions of using picture books to carry out kindergarten science education activities from three aspects: kindergartens,teachers and parents,in order to provide a reference strategy for teachers who are confused about the use of picture books to carry out teaching activities.This study applies picture books to science education activities in kindergartens,which enriches the teaching form of science education,helps cultivate children’s scientific thinking and inquiry ability,and promotes teachers’ professional development.At the same time,it also strengthens the connection between families and kindergartens,which is conducive to building a new type of two-way home cooperation.
