General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities that all kinds of courses should go in the same direction with ideological and political courses,and carry out curriculum thinking and government with the characteristics of each subject to implement the goal of "establishing moral education for people".As a quality teaching resource around students,local geography resources can make students realize that geography exists in their lives,learn from their surroundings and master the ability of geography learning,and implicitly cultivate students’ national sentiment,scientific spirit,environmental protection awareness and other ideological and political qualities in the process of learning.Therefore,this paper focuses on how to effectively use the local geographic resources in Lhasa city in the high school geography curriculum.The study is mainly divided into the following parts.In the first part,we read a lot of literature and sorted out the literature related to "curriculum thinking politics" and "local geography resources" at home and abroad,and studied the current situation to lay the theoretical foundation of the study.The second part,through distributing questionnaires,we investigated the development of geography curriculum thinking and the current situation of applying local geography resources in eight high schools in Lhasa,and derived the problems of the current situation from the teacher level and school level respectively.In the third part,based on the theoretical foundation and the current situation of investigation and research,it is clarified that the application of local geographic resources in the high school geography curriculum of Lhasa should follow the principles of scientificity,localization,development and subjectivity;three strategies are proposed to strengthen teachers’ consciousness of ideology and education,enhance teachers’ ability to use local geographic resources and explore the ideological elements in local geographic resources;two ways of application are proposed: designing integration points and creating teaching contexts.In the fourth part,Based on the current situation and application principles,three teaching cases were designed from the new Humanities version of Geography 1 and Geography 2.This study provides a theoretical elaboration and practical guidance on the application of Lhasa’s vernacular geographic resources in high school geography curriculum thinking and government,in order to provide reference for front-line geography teachers to better use Lhasa’s vernacular geographic resources to carry out geography curriculum thinking and government and improve students’ ideological and moral qualities.
