As a direct provider of community services,a link between the government and the masses, and an important booster of community governance and community construction, community workers will inevitably produce some negative emotions in the face of the new requirements of social governance and complex community affairs in the new era,but these negative emotions are often ignored by residents and even the society.Good emotion management ability is an important premise to mobilize the enthusiasm of community workers, improve their work efficiency and ensure their service quality.Only with good emotional management ability can community workers maintain a stable emotional state and better invest in community work. This paper takes the community workers in P community,H street,Hanyang District,Wuhan as the research object.Through the questionnaire survey, the author finds that they generally have negative emotions and need to improve their emotion management ability. Therefore,on the basis of following the principle of voluntariness and according to the results of the questionnaire survey, the author recruited 10 community workers with negative emotions and emotional adjustment appeal, and carried out group work intervention under the guidance of emotional ABC theory. With the help of the author, they can improve their negative emotional management ability.Firstly, around the dialectical relationship of the three core concepts of cognition, behavior and emotion in the rational emotional behavior treatment model, the author designed six group service schemes for one and a half months, and recorded the group process in detail,so as to provide supplement and basis for the later process evaluation.Secondly, after the group activities, the author uses the methods of process evaluation and result evaluation to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of group intervention. From the data changes measured before and after the Panas emotion scale and the self-change of team members,it is found that the positive emotions of community workers are significantly increased, the negative emotions are significantly reduced, the emotional state is significantly improved, and the ability of emotion management is improved. Finally, the author summarizes and reflects on the practical process of the group, and draws the following conclusions: First, the group work has significant advantages and positive significance in improving the emotional management ability of community workers, which is conducive to forming a team atmosphere of self-help and mutual assistance, building a peer support network, and helping the group members learn from each other and make common progress.Second, the emotional ABC theory is applicable to improve the emotional management ability of community workers. The rational emotional behavior treatment model derived from this theory provides a clear path for the author’s practical intervention.By identifying irrational beliefs, changing thinking mode, strengthening their rational thinking, helping service objects improve their negative emotion management ability and maintain a good and stable emotional state. It is hoped that this study can provide some reference for the related research of group work intervention in the improvement of community workers’ emotional management ability.
