Group Work Is Involved In The Study Of Parental Stress In Children With Autism

The number of autism patients in our country is increasing year by year.According to statistics,the number of autistic patients in China has reached more than10 million,and there are more than 2 million autistic children aged 0-14.The large number of children with autism means that more parents of autistic children are suffering from problems caused by the disorder.Through literature review and the measurement of parental stress of autistic children in the N Organization support project,the author found that parents of autistic children are facing huge parental pressure,and the pressure has caused serious impact on the lives of these parents.Moreover,parents of autistic children live together with their children day and night,their parental pressure is directly related to the effect of rehabilitation treatment for autistic children.Therefore,it is necessary and urgent to relieve the parental pressure of autistic children.This study involved from the perspective of social work,understood the research status of parental stress of autistic children at home and abroad through literature review,took N institution as the site of practical investigation,adopted questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview to collect rich data,and analyzed the causes and needs of parental stress of autistic children from the level of children,parents and society.Combined with the actual situation,based on the family stress theory,design the specific service plan of team work intervention.A total of 8 members were recruited for this group work,and six group activities were designed from three aspects: focusing on family stressful events,family’s cognition of events and family’s resources to cope with stress,to help parents of autistic children relieve parental pressure.It is found that group work is effective in relieving parental stress of autistic children,and the family stress theory can provide a strong theoretical support for the development of group work.Finally,this study reflects on practical activities and puts forward suggestions on relieving parental stress of autistic children from four aspects:family,institution,government and society.
