Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Green Efficiency In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

The Yangtze River Economic Belt contains 11 provinces and cities,rich in resources and numerous industries,and has a strong demonstration and leading role in China’s economic development.Especially in the complex situation of century change and epidemic,it has survived crises again and again with strong economic resilience.But,its traditional development mode of high energy consumption pollution also brings a lot of harm to the environment we live on.At the beginning of the 14 th Five-Year Plan,it is particularly important to properly deal with resource and environmental issues and realize the green transformation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Digital economy,as a new form of business derived from the information age,may become an effective driving force for the improvement of regional green efficiency.Therefore,this thesis focuses on the Yangtze River Economic Belt.In order to explore the direct impact,spatial spillover and heterogeneity of the digital economy on green efficiency,the index system of the digital economy is firstly constructed by using the entropy weight method from the dimensions of digital infrastructure,digital industry application and digital development environment.Secondly,environmental pollution and other factors are brought into the input and output,and the green development efficiency is calculated by using the super-efficiency SBM model.Finally,under different spatial weight matrices,spatial Dubin regression and sub-sample regression are conducted on provincial panel data of the Yangtze River economic belt from 2011 to 2020 respectively.The final findings are as follows:(1)Digital economy can positively promote the improvement of green efficiency,and it is more obvious under the spatial effect;(2)Digital economy has spatial spillover phenomenon,that is,the digital economy of this province can positively promote the green efficiency of other provinces and cities closely connected with it;(3)The regional heterogeneity of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is serious.Compared with the middle and upper reaches of the provinces and cities,the green development efficiency of the lower reaches of the developed regions is more affected by the digital economy.In view of the above conclusions,this thesis puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Strengthen the construction of information facilities and promote the integration of regional digital industry;(2)Strengthen regional exchanges and cooperation,and make overall planning to realize complementarity of regional advantages;(3)Strengthen precise docking and assistance to eliminate regional digital divide to a great extent;(4)Strengthen supervision and punishment to ensure the benign development of regional digital economy.
