Science fiction has naturally attracted the attention of junior high school students for reasons that it is rich in content,imaginative in plots,and easy reading.With the popularization of science fiction in recent years,it had been given more attention in education.From that it was included into the curriculum recommended readings to that it was selected as the key reading materials in nationwide textbook and then that it showed up in the Chinese test in Gaokao,the significance of science fiction in teaching had been widely recognized.However,due to the past ignorance of science fiction teaching,this content has not been properly used by teachers in the classroom.Thus,it worth exploring that how middle school teachers and students could pay more attention to science fiction and use it properly and make the most of it.Based on the understandings towards fiction characters,the development of science fiction and its application and value in teaching,in this research I had designed a questionnaire which based on the compulsory education content and Chinese curriculum standards for public high schools,and then had distributed it to public high schools in Changsha.The questionnaire was mainly focused on "science fiction teaching",and surveyed students from three angles: "reading status","cognition situation" and "cognition situation in learning and teaching".Moreover,teachers were surveyed from "reading situation","how much they know and how do they feel about students’ science fiction reading ",and "their cognition in learning and teaching".The results showed that the current science fiction was in a positive and optimistic state in terms of reading environment,value cognition,teaching attitude,practical innovation,evaluation content,etc.,but in a negative state in terms of overall teaching situation,the science fiction literacy of teachers and students,the unique and traditional teaching value of science fiction,and the teaching of science fiction.Based on the research methods of questionnaires and offline interviews,this paper proposes some teaching strategies from the following four aspects: First,"creating a teaching atmosphere",mainly through bringing students’ awareness into the science teaching,enabling teachers pay active attention to students’ reading situation and teaching applications,helping parents and teachers school change their inherent concepts to provide teaching support to actively create a good science fiction classroom atmosphere;the second is the "improvement of science fiction literacy",which requires teachers and students to read science fiction works from various authors and various themes and to in-depth study science fiction theories,to eventually improve students ’ and teachers ’ literacy and extend the depth of teaching content;the third is "the richness of teaching forms",which shows the group reading teaching of science fiction,comprehensive interdisciplinary teaching and the whole book reading teaching based on the example of "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea";the fourth is "exploring of teaching resources",which mainly means that the school should establish a research group which could develop and explore the core and sub-core resources of science fiction books except those which are on the textbooks,and that the society should improve the sense of educational responsibility to produce and provide high-quality fiction book resources and relating teaching activity resources.Then,based on the textbook reading notifications,the evolution of textbooks in various editions,and relevant countermeasures,the author took "Bring Her Eyes" and "Foundation" as examples and completed a teaching design,to act as a reference for teachers’ science fiction teaching.
