Efficient land transfer plays a very important role in resolving land fragmentation, improving the competitiveness of agricultural industries, and promoting agricultural modernization. In order to achieve efficient land transfer,China has successively introduced a series of policies to encourage land transfer in rural areas in recent years. However,in addition to being affected by policies, land transfer is also affected by factors such as farmers’ Internet use and non agricultural employment. This thesis takes farmers nationwide as the research object, and systematically analyzes the mechanism that farmers’ Internet use affects farmers’ land transfer. At the same time,it introduces the issue of farmers’ non agricultural employment, expounds the role of non agricultural employment in land transfer out and in,as well as the intermediary role of non agricultural employment in the "Internet use land transfer" impact mechanism.Using cross-sectional data from the 2018 China Household Tracking Survey, and using empirical analysis methods such as Probit regression, substitution model, and substitution core explanatory variables, and stepwise regression analysis, this thesis examines the impact of farmers’ Internet use and non agricultural employment on land transfer decision-making,as well as the intermediary effect of non agricultural employment between farmers’ Internet use and land transfer. The following conclusions are drawn: farmers’ Internet use is conducive to non agricultural employment;Farmer’s Internet use and non agricultural employment have a positive impact on land transfer out, while farmer’s Internet use has no direct and significant impact on land inflow.Farmer’s non agricultural employment will significantly inhibit farmers from transferring to land; The mediating effect of non agricultural employment on the relationship between Internet use and land outflow is significant and partially mediated. Finally, based on the conclusions reached, this thesis proposes the following recommendations:(1)Strengthen the training of rural labor on the Internet, and guide farmers to consciously access information through the Internet to increase their ability to use the Internet;(2)Promote the construction and application level of Internet infrastructure in rural areas to make more farmers use the Internet;(3)We will improve the social security mechanism, strengthen vocational skills training for rural labor, and promote non agricultural employment of rural labor.
