| The excellent Chinese traditional culture is the spirit and culture of the Chinese people of all ethnic groups,which has been accumulated and precipitated over a long period of time during thousands of years of history,and is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation,the "soul" and "root" of the Chinese nation.In recent years with the firm cultural confidence and building a cultural and spiritual home in the new era proposed by General Secretary Xi,the excellent Chinese traditional culture has also received more and more attention from the society.The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has made it clear in the new curriculum reform that school education should integrate the excellent Chinese traditional culture into the curriculum and teaching materials.Excellent Chinese traditional culture should be integrated into the teaching of language,history,geography,biology and other courses so that students have a Chinese cultural heritage.The two major learning contents of "physical geography" and " human geography " in secondary school geography can be combined with some contents of Chinese excellent traditional culture.The infiltration of Chinese excellent traditional culture in secondary school geography teaching is not only implements the national education requirements,enriches the teaching theories,helps to establish and improve the excellent traditional Chinese culture system,and better inherits the excellent traditional Chinese culture.It is also conducive to the cultivation of students’ geography core accomplishment and the realization of the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and cultivating people proposed in the new curriculum reform.At the same time,it can stimulate students’ interest in learning geography and strengthen students’ understanding of excellent traditional Chinese culture,so as to achieve the purpose of protecting and inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture.However,in the practice of secondary school geography teaching,teachers fail to apply the excellent Chinese traditional culture to teaching well because of various reasons.Therefore,in order to better permeate and transmit the excellent Chinese traditional culture in secondary school geography teaching,this paper conducts a corresponding study and proposes a rough teaching strategy.First off,this paper uses the requirements of the Ministry of Education of China,the new curriculum reform,the foundation for cultivating core geography literacy,and the requirements of the college entrance examination as the research background.It then combines the current situation of scholars’ research on traditional culture education at home and abroad,explains the research significance of,and concludes with some recommendations.Simultaneously,via reading literature,the idea and classification of culture as well as good Chinese traditional culture were sorted out.Secondly,three chapters of the high school geography textbook of the Humanities Education Edition(2019)were selected-"Regional Culture and Urban and Rural Landscapes," "Agricultural Location Factors" "Regional Integrity and Relatedness",summarize the contents related to the excellent Chinese traditional culture contained in them and the geographic knowledge they contain,and further explore other excellent Chinese traditional cultures that can be integrated in the three chapters.Then,through a questionnaire survey,we investigated the current situation of secondary school geography teachers’ integration of Chinese excellent traditional culture in geography teaching from the aspects of teachers’ knowledge of Chinese excellent traditional culture,ways of understanding,current situation of implementation,implementation methods,and difficulties encountered in the process of implementation,and the results of the data obtained were compiled and analyzed to summarize the difficulties and problems encountered in the process of applying Chinese excellent traditional culture to secondary school geography teaching Difficulties and problems: secondary school geography teachers do not pay enough attention to the application of Chinese excellent traditional culture in geography teaching;secondary school geography teachers do not know enough about Chinese excellent traditional culture and have low traditional culture literacy;geography teachers have low efforts to implement Chinese excellent traditional culture education in secondary school geography teaching due to the tight schedule of geography teaching and less class time arranged by schools.Then,using a questionnaire survey,we examined the strategies for inheriting excellent Chinese traditional culture in secondary school geography teaching:improving teachers’ excellent Chinese traditional culture literacy;using various teaching methods to educate traditional culture;using cultural essence flexibly according to teaching contents;increasing the proportion of excellent Chinese traditional culture in geography teaching evaluation;and using knowledge about l The goal of promoting local outstanding traditional culture can be accomplished by employing information about local traditional culture as teaching resources and disseminating great Chinese traditional culture through various network
