| Research purposes:"The Outline of the" Healthy China 2030 "Plan emphasizes the need to strengthen physical exercise among primary and secondary school students and improve their exercise methods year by year.However,in recent years,the prevention and control of the epidemic has led to insufficient participation in sports among young people,and the rates of obesity and myopia have increased year by year.Currently,the situation of epidemic prevention and control is gradually opening up,and the Ministry of Education has issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in School Physical Education under the Current Epidemic Situation",which requires schools to prioritize school physical education based on their own and students’ actual conditions,emphasizing the coordinated and parallel development of students’ cultural learning and physical training,comprehensively carrying out offline education activities,guiding students to conduct scientific physical exercise,and enhancing physical and mental health.Environmental psychology clearly states that the natural and social environment can have a certain impact on behavior,that a good school sports environment can stimulate students’ exercise motivation,and that the school sports environment has a certain impact on students’ sports participation.Therefore,this study aims to explore the relationship between school sports environment,exercise motivation,and sports participation,and explore how exercise motivation,as an intermediary variable,plays a role in the impact of school sports environment on sports participation.Research methods:This study adopts a literature review approach to synthesize existing literature and propose relevant theoretical foundations.Middle school students from eight schools in four districts and counties in Chongqing were selected as survey participants,and a mature scale was employed to collect data through questionnaire surveys.Data were analyzed using mathematical statistics to confirm the relationship between the physical education environment of schools,exercise motivation,and sports participation,as well as the mediating effect of exercise motivation.Research results:(1)The average value points of the school sports institutional environment,school sports social environment,and school sports material environment in the school sports environment are 3.627 ± 0.637,3.748 ± 0.693,and 3.692 ± 0.896,respectively.The average value points of the five dimensions of adolescent exercise motivation are 4.235± 0.809,4.113 ± 0.920,4.293 ± 0.764,3.961 ± 0.950,and 4.236 ± 0.840,respectively.(2)The level of sports participation is generally at a lower middle level,with gender differences.The exercise volume is mainly small,and differences in gender and grade are observed in sports participation.(3)The school physical education environment has a significant correlation with exercise motivation and sports participation at P=0.01,with correlation coefficients of0.376 and 0.162,respectively.The interaction between school physical education environment and exercise motivation also has a significant correlation with sports participation,with a correlation coefficient of 0.206.The correlation coefficient between exercise motivation and sports participation at P=0.01 is 0.163,indicating a significant positive correlation.(4)The direct effect of school sports environment on sports participation is 0.240,while the indirect effect is 0.050,resulting in a total effect of 0.290.Research conclusions:(1)There are disparities between the school sports environments in urban and suburban areas.Urban schools have significantly better physical environments compared to suburban schools.The school sports environment has a positive correlation with exercise motivation and sports participation,which can positively predict teenagers’ exercise motivation and sports participation.(2)The exercise motivation of teenagers is strong,with fun motivation being the primary factor.There are differences in health motivation and social motivation between suburban and gender variables.Exercise motivation has a positive correlation with sports participation,which can positively predict sports participation.(3)Sports participation is generally at a lower middle level,with gender differences.The level of sports volume is mainly low,and the frequency of sports varies across suburban variables.(4)Exercise motivation plays an intermediary role in the influence of school sports environment on sports participation. |
