Education revitalization is the key task of implementing the strategy of rural revitalization.The purpose is to empower rural revitalization through rural education.The revitalization of education,however,requires teachers to play a key role,so in the context of vigorous revitalization,our key task is to strengthen the rural teaching force.Among them,the group of novice teachers is an important part of the village teachers and is in the initial stage of career development.At this time,their professional identity level,namely their cognition,emotion and attitude towards the teacher profession,is directly related to the working state,professional development planning and education quality of the rural novice teachers themselves,and to a certain extent,it will affect the progress of building a qualified rural teaching force,which in turn will affect the long-term development of rural education.Therefore,it is very important to explore the status quo and influencing factors of rural novice teachers’ professional identity in the stage of compulsory education.This study focuses on the status of rural novice teachers’ professional identity.Based on the existing studies on teachers’ professional identity and the characteristics of rural novice teachers,the analysis framework is constructed.Questionnaire survey and interview method were used to investigate the rural novice teachers in H City of L province at the stage of compulsory education.The results show that:(1)On the whole,the level of professional identity of rural novice teachers is high.,and when comparing the means of each dimension,it can be found that the highest level is professional values,while the lowest level is professional sense of belonging.(2)Significant differences in the professional identity of rural beginning teachers were mainly found in the gender and establishment variables,while there were significant differences in individual dimensions among rural novice teachers with different professions,positions,education,subjects taught and number of classes taught.(3)The four influencing factors of "self-efficacy","social security","professional motivation" and "management system" are significantly positively correlated with the professional identity of rural novice teachers,while "workload" is significantly and negatively related to the professional identity of rural novice teachers,among which "self-efficacy" has the greatest impact on the professional identity of rural novice teachers.Based on the investigation and analysis of the current situation,problems and influencing factors of rural novice teachers’ professional identity,this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions on how to improve and consolidate the level of rural novice teachers’ professional identity.That is,we can correct career motivation to build a solid foundation for identity;enhance self-efficacy to promote identity development;Optimize the professional development system to strengthen the level of identity;and improve social security to alleviate identity difficulties.
