Modern Industrial College is a new type of hybrid educational institution or organization established by some universities in the new century in cooperation with local advantageous enterprises in order to meet the needs of upgrading the industrial structure of the new era society. Its emergence conforms to the current development trend of economic society and higher education. The current background of the transformation of the knowledge production model not only brings rare development opportunities to the development of modern industrial colleges, but also makes them face many governance challenges. This study mainly uses case study and interview methods to construct a governance analysis framework of "three levels, four elements, and five dimensions" from the theoretical perspective of knowledge production model transformation, focusing on the governance issues of modern industrial colleges. The paper discusses theoretical issues such as the development history, theoretical connotation, and typical characteristics of modern industrial colleges, comprehensively and systematically investigates and analyzes the current governance situation of modern industrial colleges, deeply analyzes the existing problems in the governance of modern industrial colleges, and the underlying reasons behind them.On this basis,it explores the optimization path for the governance of modern industrial colleges.Through case analysis and investigation of Hainan J College,it is found that the current governance situation of the Industrial College is not good and it is difficult to meet the requirements of its high-quality development. From the theoretical perspective of the transformation of the knowledge production model, the governance of industrial colleges mainly includes issues such as conservative governance concepts, scattered governance objectives, lack of governance bodies, imperfect governance systems, and outdated governance culture. The main reasons for the above problems are insufficient top-level government design, insufficient coordination of industry and enterprise interests, failure of civil society to effectively participate in governance, and the absence of a diversified governance pattern in industrial colleges. The governance of modern industrial colleges in the future should focus on the following aspects: the government should strengthen top-level design, improve system protection and overall coordination;Industry enterprises should unblock governance channels and effectively play their due governance functions;Civil society should actively participate in governance and assist the high-quality development of industrial colleges;Modern industrial colleges should transform their educational philosophy and focus on optimizing their governance structure and improving their governance capabilities.
