| The learning status of college students is a key factor to measure the quality of college education. However, the urban-rural dual structure produces different social strata and gives students different urban and rural experiences.Urban and rural background is an important environmental factor affecting students’ learning status, which is in an important position among many factors affecting students’ learning. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical importance to study the mechanism of its influence on the learning status of university students. In this paper, the undergraduate students of the school of Chemistry in D University,a high-level university in China, are taken as the research object,so as to ensure that the actual situation of students’ learning status can be obtained more easily and accurately when studying the learning status of students in a certain college separately.Through literature research, questionnaire and semi-structured interview, the research framework is constructed, and the learning status of students is divided into four dimensions: learning motivation, professional identity, learning behavior and learning effect.Based on this, the questionnaire on the learning status of undergraduates majoring in Chemistry is compiled and issued to students in the sophomore to senior year after prediction and correction.According to the result of questionnaire,SPSS27 is used to analyze the data. The results of the questionnaire are showed as follows:The average learning status of college students is 3.8328,higher than the theoretical mean value of Liker5-point scoring method. The overall learning status is good, but there is still a large room for improvement. There are no statistically significant differences in gender, major and whether to adjust students, but there are significant differences in the learning status of students in different grades(P<0.05).With the growth of grades, students’ learning status gradually is improved. There is a significant difference between urban and rural students’ learning status(P<0.001).The rural and urban background causes the poor learning status of rural students, and the mean value of specific questions is lower than that of urban students.Through the comparison of each item,it is found that rural students have problems that need to be paid attention to,which mainly focus on rural students’ lack of internal motivation, low professional identity, and inactive classroom performance.Based on the analysis of questionnaire data,9 rural students are selected to conduct semistructured interviews about the learning status of rural students. From the perspective of cultural reproduction theory, the learning status of rural students is affected by habitus, capital and field.Students’ habitus affects their own education, and habitus is originated from the influence of family field and the accumulation of socialization experience. The economic conditions of students’ families, their parents’ social relations and different cultural capital make students generate different self-efficacy.Different stages, schools, facilities and teachers constitute different fields, affecting the development of students. Finally, according to the above research conclusions, suggestions are put forward from four aspects: society, family, university and individual. The society should pay attention to the investment of educational resources in rural areas and enhance the cultural capital of rural students.Schools,as the main body of education, should be student-centred and pay attention to the individual development of different students.Family is the first classroom of students, parents should face the differences in family cultural capital, increase the investment in students’ education.Students should abandon wrong ideas and improve themselves comprehensively. |
