Upholding the rule of law in all respects is the unique strength of the socialist national system and governance system with Chinese characteristics,and an important guarantee for realizing the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.High school students are very important to the development of the socialist cause.Their legal consciousness cultivation is related to the promotion of the overall rule of law and the construction of a modern socialist country.The New Ideological and Political Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools revised in 2020 emphasizes that students’ consciousness of rule of law should be cultivated through systematic study of ideological and political courses.This paper investigates and analyzes the problems and causes of the cultivation of legal consciousness in the teaching of high school ideological and political lessons,and on this basis carries out targeted policy research,which is of great value to optimize the effect of legal consciousness cultivation of high school students.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction part,which mainly combs the background of the topic,theoretical significance,practical value and research status at home and abroad.The second part is the related theory of the consciousness of rule of law.First,it combs and analyzes the concepts related to the cultivation of the legal consciousness of high school students.Second,it discusses the relevant theoretical basis for the cultivation of the legal consciousness of high school students.Third,on the basis of studying the curriculum standards of ideology and politics,it systematically expounds the main contents of cultivating the legal consciousness of students in the teaching of ideological and political courses in high school.The third part is an investigation and analysis of the problems and causes of cultivating students’ legal consciousness in high school ideological and political course teaching.Through questionnaire survey,teacher interview and reference to relevant literature,this paper finds out the existing problems in the teaching and training of high school ideological and political courses in guiding students to respect law,learn law,abide by law and use law,and analyzes the reasons behind them.It is found that the main problems in the cultivation of legal consciousness in the teaching of ideological and political courses in high school are: the experience of respecting the law is not enough,it is not easy to cultivate students’ feelings of respecting the law,the content of studying the law is not integrated and extended,it is inconvenient to extend students’ interest in studying the law,the cultivation of law-abiding consciousness is out of line with the teaching evaluation system,the lack of rationality,the few opportunities to practice the usage,and it is difficult to exercise students’ usage ability.These problems are mainly caused by the following reasons: some teachers do not pay enough attention to the creation of legal experience situation,some teachers lack the consciousness of developing legal teaching content,some schools have a serious tendency of exam-oriented teaching evaluation,and the construction of the "second classroom" of cultivating legal consciousness needs to be strengthened.The fourth part is aimed at the problems and causes,based on the four aspects of respecting the law,abiding by the law and using the law,to optimize the cultivation of the legal consciousness in the teaching of high school ideological and political lessons and put forward effective optimization strategies,mainly including: To optimize the classroom experience of rule of law,cultivate students’ feelings of respecting the law,explore the teaching resources of rule of law,increase students’ interest in law learning,improve the teaching evaluation system,cultivate students’ consciousness of abiding by the law,guide students to participate in extracurricular practice of rule of law,and develop students’ ability to use the law.The fifth part takes "law-abiding by the whole people" as the theme,carries on the case teaching design,in order to provide materials and ideas for the high school ideological and political course teachers to develop the consciousness of rule of law more effectively.
