With the popularization of information science and technology and the increasing demand for information science and technology,information technology is gradually becoming more and more deeply rooted in people’s lives.The Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Building People’s Moral Character have put forward new requirements for students in compulsory education: to cultivate students’ practical skills and provide support for their lifelong development.The STEAM concept aims to cultivate students’ innovation and problem-solving skills,while project-based learning emphasizes the cultivation of students’ problemsolving skills in real-life situations,which coincide with the requirements of the new curriculum for IT subjects.Therefore,this study attempts to construct a STEAM-based project-based learning teaching process framework and verify its teaching effectiveness through practice.The framework will be optimized and improved according to the problems found in practice.To provide a new way of thinking for the current teaching of IT subjects.This study uses literature research,experimental investigation,questionnaires and interviews,and constructs a STEAM-based project-based learning teaching process framework using constructivist learning theory,situated cognition theory and pragmatism theory as guidance.The main contents of this study are as follows: firstly,the author did a detailed theoretical study to sort out and analyze the domestic and international literature on STEAM,project-based learning and junior high school IT curriculum,and to define the relevant concepts;secondly,the author analyzed the learners from multiple perspectives and designed the teaching content as a whole.Based on the analysis of previous classical models,a STEAM-based project-based learning teaching process framework was constructed and used as the basis for designing the activities of teachers and students in junior high school IT topics.In order to investigate the effectiveness of the STEAM-based project-based learning teaching process framework,the author conducted three rounds of teaching practice in S City No.5 Middle School and continuously optimized and improved the model during the practice process.The analysis of the learners’ pre and post test scores and the results of the teacher-student interviews led to the final conclusions of this study.The findings show that the STEAM-based project-based learning teaching and learning has achieved good practice results,learners’ interest in learning and subject satisfaction have been enhanced,and the teaching process framework is effective.
