The Application Of Orff-schulwerk Approach In The Teaching Of Violin For Children

The violin is the most popular musical instrument for modern parents.With the rapid progress of society,the traditional violin teaching philosophy of "skill over art" has become more and more inadequate to meet the needs of today’s violin education,and has to a certain extent hindered the development of violin education.The violin is one of the most difficult instruments to learn to play,as it requires skillful left and right hand coordination.Therefore,the introduction to violin requires consolidating basic skills and devoting a lot of boring repetitive exercises,which is very difficult for children who lack patience.Therefore,only teaching methods that are fun and free from educational skills can arouse children’s interest in violin during the long practice process.Therefore,it is urgent to propose a suitable teaching method for children’s violin education in China.The "Orff method" was created by Carl Orff(1895-1982),a famous music educator in Germany,and is his original music education system.It is known as one of the three major music teaching methods for music enlightenment,together with Dalcroze and Kodaly.The core idea of Orff’s music teaching method is to teach music from the origin and essence of music,i.e.,"Appeal to sensibility and return to human nature",which is original,comprehensive and open,and emphasizes the characteristics of improvisation,and can stimulate students’ ability to learn music independently.This humanistic and efficient teaching method is widely used in the world,and it is widely used in the initiation of children’s violin teaching.Therefore,the introduction of Orff’s music teaching method is of great significance to solve many shortcomings of traditional violin teaching in China.By applying the Orff method to children’s violin teaching,children can master the knowledge of bow-holding,rhythm training,aural training,and music theory more easily and happily.In this paper,we will discuss the basic concept of Orff teaching method and its core teaching concept,and analyze the application of Orff teaching method in violin music teaching for children with domestic and foreign research developments and actual cases.
