The report of the 20 th Party Congress proposes to implement the national strategy to actively cope with the aging of the population,develop the elderly care business and the elderly care industry,optimize the services for the widowed elderly,and promote the realization of basic elderly care services for all elderly people.The active development of the elderly industry is conducive to the protection of elderly services for all elderly people.Elderly education is the last link of lifelong education.Accelerating the development of elderly education plays an important role in solving the problem of population aging in China,and it is important and urgent for China to meet the challenges of aging and serve the strategy of active aging.Since the new era,the contradiction between supply and demand of senior education in China has become increasingly prominent.On the one hand,the demand for quality senior education exceeds the supply,and the actual demand for senior universities increases year by year,on the other hand,the overall satisfaction of the elderly with senior education is not high,and the imbalance between supply and demand of senior education needs to be vigorously explored as a solution.Older people’s university is the main form of developing older people’s education in China.Relying on the open university system,the open university for the elderly was established,which has brought into play the advantages of distance education and incorporated the concept of open schooling,and gradually developed into an important force in carrying out elderly education in China.From the perspective of active aging,the article analyzes the three demands of health,participation and security for elderly learners to realize active aging,and investigates the supply situation of the open university for the elderly.The article concludes that older learners are not yet highly receptive to online learning and have limited enthusiasm for learning participation;there are still more diversified requirements for offline learning modes and learning methods;the operation of the Open University for the Elderly has not really been extended to street communities;the number of managers and full-time teachers in the Open University for the Elderly system is still lacking,and the types of courses are not diversified enough,which restricts the quality of the Open University for the Elderly.This restricts the quality of the open university for the elderly,and cannot meet the needs of the flourishing education of the elderly.In order to improve the quality of the Open University for the Elderly and solve the contradiction between the supply and demand of student services,we can introduce social work professional services,extend the Open University for the Elderly to the community and elderly institutions,and effectively expand the supply of elderly education;use social work professional methods to enrich the learning methods of the Open University for the Elderly;strengthen the cooperation with social work professional institutions,and implement intelligent elderly assistance programs to benefit more elderly groups.The project will benefit more elderly groups.Under the guidance of relevant social work theories,help the elderly establish a correct concept of learning and cultivate the ability to live independently;mobilize the elderly to take advantage of their own advantages to participate in the operation of the Open University for the Aged and social development;build a bridge between the Open University for the Aged students and their families,and strengthen national education on aging for all.
