Innovation has always been a significant theme of social and economic development in countries all over the world,and the cultivation of innovative talents is a strategic measure and the only way to build an innovative socialist country and to meet the challenges of the new era.Mathematics teachers focus on cultivating students’ good mathematical literacy,but also need to devote to students’ personality development,and creative personality is an important part of innovative talents,and paying attention to students’ personality development in mathematics education is one of the vital reasons for students to form good mathematical literacy;modeling literacy as an important part of mathematics core literacy,and mathematical modeling ability is the key ability that constitutes mathematical modeling literacy,due to the test The inherent concept of test orientation is deeply rooted in people’s minds and is often neglected in the actual teaching process,but it is a key factor in enhancing students’ scientific spirit and sense of innovation.Therefore,it is necessary to study the intrinsic mechanism of interaction between creative personality and mathematical modeling ability,and to propose the integration of creative personality building initiatives in the process of mathematics education based on personality development,taking the study of the value of increasing mathematical modeling ability as a starting point.we explored the relationship between creative personality and mathematical learning engagement that affects mathematical modeling ability from the perspective of empirical analysis.The main conclusions were as follows.⑴The overall mathematical modeling ability of high school students is at a low level,and the mathematical modeling ability of male students is significantly higher than that of female students;there is no significant difference in mathematical modeling ability among different grades.There is no significant difference among groups with high,middle and low scores in mathematical modeling ability in terms of grade level,while there is a significant difference among groups with middle scores in mathematical modeling ability and no significant difference between high and low scores.⑵The overall mathematical learning engagement of high school students was moderately high,and there was no significant difference in mathematical learning engagement among different genders;the emotional engagement of male students was significantly higher than that of female students in sub-engagements,and the rest of sub-engagements were not significantly different;the mathematical learning engagement of sophomore students was significantly higher than that of freshman students,except that there was no significant difference in emotional engagement in grade,and the rest of subengagements were significantly higher in sophomore students than that of freshman students.Cognitive engagement,behavioral engagement,social engagement,and mathematics learning engagement of the middle subgroups groups were significantly different in grade level,while the rest groups were not significantly different;there was no significant difference in gender for different engagement score groups.⑶High school students have a good level of creative personality overall.The level of creative personality of male students is significantly higher than that of female students,but the difference of imagination between male and female students is not significant;the difference of creative personality level between different grades is not significant.The difference of grade level in different levels of creative personality groups is not significant,but the risk-taking in senior grades in high subgroups is significantly higher than that in sophomores;the main effect of gender in the subgroups of risk-taking,curiosity,and challenging is significant,and the difference is not significant in the remaining groups.⑷ Mathematical modeling ability,mathematical learning engagement,and creative personality were significantly and positively correlated with each other.Creative personality can positively influence mathematical modeling ability,imagination does not have a significant positive prediction of mathematical modeling ability;creative personality can positively affect mathematical learning engagement,while the effect of imagination on mathematical learning engagement is not significant;mathematical learning engagement can significantly and positively influence mathematical modeling ability.⑸ Mathematics learning engagement as a mediating variable fully mediates the process of creative personality influencing mathematical modeling ability(effect size of 79.4%).Some referential measures for cultivating mathematical modeling ability of senior high school students:(1)Guiding students to engage in creative mathematics learning;(2)Motivating students to learn creative mathematics and imploring them to pursue creative mathematics learning goals;(3)Allowing students to be hands-on and develop their creative thinking;(4)Teaching students to learn to learn and choose their own mathematics learning strategies. |
