Teachers are engineers of the human soul and inheritors of human civilization who bear the heavy responsibility of spreading knowledge,ideas,truth,shaping souls,life and new people.Whether a teacher can take up this important task well depends on whether a teacher can stand up,be reliable and live a hard life in ethics.General Secretary Xi Jinping said: "It is necessary to strengthen the construction of teachers’ morality and style to guide the majority of teachers to establish themselves,learn and teach by virtue." Since the beginning of the new era,the party and the state have attached great importance to the construction of college teachers’ morality,and issued a series of relevant policy documents,which clearly defined the standards and tasks of college teachers’ morality construction,which effectively promoted the theoretical research and practical exploration of college teachers’ morality construction in the new era.However,there are a series of problems in the construction of teachers’ morality in colleges and universities at present,especially the countermeasures and paths for the construction of teachers’ morality need to be improved,which is the main problem that this paper tries to solve.This paper adheres to the four-dimensional integration of teachers’ morality education,teachers’ morality cultivation,system construction,assessment rewards and punishments.It points out the direction and standards of teachers’ morality construction in colleges and universities in the new era by investigating and studying the main problems existing in the construction of teachers’ morality in colleges and universities in the new era and analyzing the reasons behind the problems,and puts forward the focus and strategies of teachers’ morality construction in colleges and universities in the new era.This paper consists of five parts: The first part is the introduction.This part mainly expounds background and significance of the research,overview of domestic and foreign research status,research ideas,research content and research methods,innovation and shortcomings of the research.The second part is the connotation of the construction of college teachers’ morality in the new era.Focus on explaining the concept connotation of morality,professional ethics,teachers’ professional ethics and the construction of college teachers’ morality in the new era.The third part is the analysis of the main problems and reasons in the construction of teachers’ morality in colleges and universities in the new era.Through questionnaire survey and interview,this paper discusses the main problems existing in the construction of college teachers’ morality in the new era from the perspectives of students and teachers.This paper summarizes the problems from four dimensions: teachers’ morality education,teachers’ morality cultivation,system construction,assessment and reward and punishment,and analyzes the reasons.The fourth part is the direction and standard of teachers’ morality construction in colleges and universities in the new era.This paper mainly explains that the construction of teachers’ morality in colleges and universities in the new era is oriented towards serving the people and guided by socialist core values,and unifies the standards of teachers’ morality construction in colleges and universities in the new era with the requirements of "four good teachers" proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping,that is,having ideals and beliefs,moral sentiments,solid knowledge and caring heart.The fifth part is the focus and strategy of the construction of college teachers’ morality in the new era.Focusing on the requirements in the Ten Codes of Professional Conduct for College Teachers in the New Era,the focus of the construction of college teachers’ morality in the new era lies in ten aspects: firm political orientation,consciously patriotism and law-abiding,spreading excellent culture,concentrating on teaching and educating people,caring for students,adhering to elegance and integrity in words and deeds,observing academic norms,upholding fairness and integrity,adhering to honesty and self-discipline,and actively contributing to society.In view of the existing problems,we should closely follow the construction direction and construct the implementation strategies of "four-dimensional integration" in the new era of college teachers’ morality construction,the implementation strategies of teachers’ morality education,teachers’ morality cultivation,system construction and assessment reward and punishment.
