The Study Of Social Work Involved In The Home Security Of Elderly Living Alone

With the deepening of the aging of the Chinese population,the proportion of elderly people living alone in the elderly population has also increased.In recent years,there have been frequent safety incidents among elderly people living alone in the process of providing for the elderly at home,especially those involving their own safety,which have received widespread attention from society.Due to the limited abilities of the elderly themselves,various safety hazards may arise in their daily lives.Compared to other groups of elderly people living alone,in addition to the entanglement of various diseases and degradation of physiological functions,as well as the characteristics of living alone,their home safety issues are more prominent.Social work intervention in the research on home safety of the elderly living alone can effectively solve the home safety problems they face,achieve home safety and security,supplement the shortcomings in the work of government departments in the elderly care services,and improve the sense of home security of the elderly living alone.Therefore,based on rational and emotional considerations,the author explores the involvement of social work in the safety of living alone elderly people at home.Starting from the actual situation of the elderly living alone in community H,this paper studies and discusses the safety of casework intervention in the home safety of the elderly living alone based on the Spring Breeze Helping the Elderly project carried out by the internship unit in the community.Firstly,through household visits,we learned about the home care situation of 10 elderly people living alone in H community,and described and analyzed the current home safety problems and influencing factors through observation and interviews.Secondly,three typical cases were selected according to the types of home safety issues divided,and the problems were analyzed and service plans were formulated with the service clients in combination with the casework development process.In the process of solving home safety problems,service activities were designed and implemented from four dimensions: self,family,neighborhood and community in view of the prominent safety problems of the three elderly living alone.Finally,the result evaluation and process evaluation of the case service were carried out,and the goal of the service target was basically completed,the home safety problem was solved,and a home safety support system for individuals + families + neighbors + communities was formed.By reflecting on and summarizing the practical process,this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of casework intervention,and draws the following two conclusions: first,case-based intervention can establish a more stable and sound home safety support system for the elderly living alone;Second,there are differences in the role played by multiple support subjects in the home safety support system.Therefore,in order to improve the applicability,stability,diversity,and sustainability of the home safety support system,and to protect the safety of solitary elderly people at home,this article proposes the following suggestions from the perspective of individuals,families,neighbors,and communities: improve the importance that solitary elderly people attach to home safety;Mobilizing family support for the safety of the elderly living alone at home;Give play to the mutual assistance function of the neighborhood for the safety of the elderly living alone at home;Strengthen comprehensive community support for elderly people living alone.
