| With the continuous revision of the birth policy, more and more families are transitioning from one-child family to multi-child family. From the perspective of resource dilution theory, when the number of children increases, the material and psychological resources in the family will decrease to varying degrees, which will lead to the deterioration of parent-child relationship.Sibling conflict is inevitable in families with many children, which will not only change the parenting style of parents and increase the degree of parental psychological control, but also affect the relationship between siblings.Serious sibling conflict will even affect the peer communication after children.Based on the background of multi-child families, this study studied the status quo and internal correlation of parent-child relationship, sibling conflict and parental psychological control among junior high school students.Parent-child relationship refers to the relationship between parents and children in a family.Sibling conflict refers to quarrels, antagonism, and aggression between siblings.Parental psychological control refers to a parenting style in which parents influence and control children’s thoughts by causing them to feel guilty.Studies have proved that parent-child relationship is related to sibling conflict and parental psychological control to some extent. Therefore,Studies 1 and 2 of this study adopted parent-child Relationship Quality Questionnaire,Sibling Relationship Quality Questionnaire and Parental Psychological Control Questionnaire, and selected 1,423 non-only-child junior high school students as subjects, with parental psychological control as the mediating variable. To explore the influence of parent-child relationship on sibling conflict, the results show that:(1)The parent-child relationship of junior high school students’ compatriots is at an above average level, the conflict of compatriots is generally less, and the psychological control of parents is at an above average level. The subjects experienced more positive parent-child relationship and sibling conflict, and the degree of parental psychological control was stronger.(2)Demographic-related factors significantly affect the parent-child relationship, sibling conflict and parental psychological control of junior high school students.(3)The parent-child relationship, sibling conflict and parental psychological control of junior high school students were significantly correlated.(4)Paternal psychological control, maternal psychological control and parental psychological control all play a partial mediating role in parent-child relationship and sibling conflict. At present, there are few researches on sibling conflict in our country, and the intervention research on sibling conflict is also in the initial stage.Based on this,Study3 borrows the Foreign Sibling Fun Program(MFWSB)and ADAPTS the intervention training to the physical and mental development characteristics of Chinese junior high school students. The intervention conditions of study 1 and study 2 are as follows:Complete multichild families,in which two intervention children were in grades 7-9,and sibling conflict was at a moderate or higher level.According to the gender combination and grade distribution of compatriots, appropriate adjustments were made to determine 10 groups of experimental group and 10 groups of control group. The control group did not do any intervention training or guidance, while the experimental group trained the students every Wednesday afternoon during self-study class. The intervention results were as follows:(1)Compared with the control group, subjects in the experimental group had more positive interactions with their compatriots.(2)The subjects in the control group tended to seek the help of parents when solving the conflict between compatriots, while the subjects in the experimental group were solving the conflictThey are less likely to seek parental help during sibling conflicts.(3)Compared with the control group, subjects in the experimental group showed more positive behaviors in the process of solving the problem of sibling conflict. In conclusion, the intervention experiment of Study 3 has a significant effect on the improvement of junior high school students’ sibling conflicts. |
